Hey guys, I’ve been lurking since 2013, never really had much to say. I’ve decided that I’d like to try to get a little more involved though and start posting. Right now, I’m in my early twenties and finishing my B.S. in Computer Science. I started collecting Pokemon cards back in 1999 after the gameboy games came out- I always considered myself a pretty serious collector as a kid, and I have been collecting on and off ever since.

Good day to you! My (fake) name is soulsilver and I just started collecting japanese cards not two months ago and I’ve got collectorviper and various poketubers to thank for getting me into this. (long story in spoiler xD) Anyway, I’m mainly gonna focus on XY era cards for now since they’re pretty easy and cheap to get my hands on, but I’ll probably expand my collection as my buying power grows 
. So just a introduction to myself and I hope to get to know everyone here eventually! 
Long story!
When I was younger I used to have a small english collection, but it never took off. As I grew older, I got into MTG and started playing and chasing the BDIFs (spending a lot of money in the process 
). However, M:TG came to nothing as I was always more intrigued by the collecting aspect than actually playing and I stopped. Anyway, fast forwards two years to around Feb '14 when I just finished my finals and decided to look into my M:TG collection, only to find (in horror and grief) that my mom had thrown away two of binders with most of the expensive cards inside 
. In the spur of the moment, I sold the remaining collection over the past weeks and got a nice bit of cash in return, but money wasn’t gonna fill up the hole in me and I know it. So I took to youtube and stumbled upon wakeruncollapse, starcardcollector and other poketubers who collect japanese cards and I knew instantly that that is what’s gonna pick me up again. Then, as I was “researching” I came upon collectorviper’s blog and subsequently found this magical place where everyone loves pokemon cards 
. So yeah, here’s how I got here!
TL;DR I got sad, got a little rich and decided to spend it on pokemon cards.

Greetings everyone!
After multiple referrals to this site, I decided to peruse through this forum. I really like the open and friendly atmosphere. For those who may know me, I have been involved with Pokemon cards since the game first came out, receiving my first pokemon card in the brushfire theme deck.
I became a member of Pokemon Trading Cards Online (PTCO) back in 2002/'03 and then joined PokeGym in 2005.
It is good to see some familiar “faces” here after all of these years!

Hello! Thought I’d write my first post in here. :’> I decided to come here because I want some “flesh on my bones” before I get into collecting again. I haven’t been an active buyer of cards since the big Pokémon boom 98-99 (stopped buying maybe, early 00’s when I was 10-11 years old.) I want to start collecting again because the feeling of nostalgia that Pokémon emit (especially the cards) is unrivaled.
I’m a 22 year old girl from Sweden who currently works tons and tons and saves large chunks of money for a future (hopefully near future) apartment, but I still have money to spare on collecting cards. (Which is going to be a pretty slow process but I like that.)
While I’m at it, I’d like to post some questions about a site I’m wondering if it’s good to buy from, where would I do that? In the buy board, or the price discussion board? (or somewhere else?) I’d hate for my first thread to be in the wrong board. (Or maybe there’s a questions thread I just somehow missed?) The only thread I found was locked!
Anyway, been snooping around a bit here for a while and decided to join and learn some stuff! Take care~
