Hi all! Been lurking a while but feel it’s time to introduce myself.
I’m Pidove and I’ve been back into card collecting for a bit under a year now. I first started collecting way back when with the WotC sets through to Unseen Forces - was only ever allowed a single pack or a theme deck as a treat once every few weeks, so I never had an especially big collection! I stopped getting cards completely during gen 4, picked up a few packs here and there very sporadically through gens 5-7, stopped completely again in gen 8, then got pulled back in (like a lot of people…) through the gateway of the TCG Pocket app. I have very few cards left from my childhood collection (largely lost or given away), though did hold on to some favourite holos, beat up as they are!
Just started to really get some goals in focus in the last few months, so I’m on my way to putting together a Pokédex wherein each Pokémon is represented by a card from a set that came out during the generation the Pokémon was introduced (e.g. Kanto Pokémon from Base Set through Gym Challenge, Johto Pokémon from the Neo sets, etc.). Outside of this Pokédex goal, the bulk of my collecting now is in sets from SV onwards - can’t deny that illustrations rares are a big part of what drew me back to Pokémon cards!
Looking forward to joining in discussions and continuing to admire the collections of other people here!

Thanks for the welcome! I love pigeons, so Pidove’s a natural fit for me (and among my favourite Pokemon, though my top three are Charizard, Houndoom and Salazzle).

Welcome, @Pidove ! Goals are super important to stay positive in the hobby right now, I think. I’m one of those weirdos who collects magic, and keeping to my goals there really helps me feel satisfied with my TCG collecting in these sometimes disheartening times.
I hope you have a great time here and continue to enjoy the hobby!

hey all, call me muttie! im a guy who loves (basically) everything pokemon! my first taste of pokemon was when i was a kid, pokemon pearl for the og ds. it was and is just great but the main pokemon games i love are pokemon mystery dungeon and pokemon rangers!
ive been getting packs since i was young, tons of fake cards 
. it was insanely fun anyway and then i just stopped collecting. then one day i was at a fundraiser event and a person was selling pokemon cards. i bought a zoroak break card and then was hooked again! for the cards i like to collect are cards that were made before 2014. there are way too many pokemon to keep track of after pokemon black and white 2 bro.
i got like 220 special cards i got in a binder. these cards give me comfort 
. one main goal i have though is to get every poochyena, growlithe, mightyena, and arcanine cards! i have made some progress but cards are dang expensive.
i would love to be apart of a community of like minded people. we could all have fun together . feel free to message me if help is ever needed. see ya!

Hi im Yani from Canada (originally UK)
My collection is pretty much entirely 1996-2008. I stopped collecting after that mainly because of work travels and life. But I kept everything locked away in cupboards so it all survived pretty well.
I was fascinated with Japanese Promos and full sets so have most of those in that era. I also liked to collect Japanese raw cards in their original packaging as this was often fascinating in its own right.
Im enjoying watching the madness of the modern collecting, scratching my head at Pokémon Centre queues and the size of modern Pop reports. But still loving peoples passion for the hobby.
