Welcome @PlentyCoup ! I’m glad you found the forum. There’s still plenty of enjoyment to be found in this hobby if you focus on what you love. I hope you enjoy your time on the forum.
Hello!
For a while now I’ve been meaning to participate here, and finally decided to make an account to share my collection. I’ve been playing the video games and collecting since I was a kid, after donating my cards in the early 2000’s I decided to start collecting again in my 20’s, and have been doing so privately since 2018. After lurking in forums and groups I did yearn for a space to share it with others though, so here I am : )
For a while I only collected sets and stamped cards (I have a complete meme seige binder kicking around somewhere), but now I focus on the Ponyta/Rapidash line, and am currently working on a master set of each, in every language. I do passively buy PSA 10 and shiny ponies when I find a decent deal, and I get autographs when I’m able to go to events in person. Ponyta has been an easier task since there aren’t as many low print or rare cards out there- looking at you samples and tmb….
I have a lot of fun non-tcg items as well, some prototypes and unique things that I hope to post when I get the chance to take photos. Looking forward to browsing the other mono collector threads and learning more about the tcg! I love that there’s an art contest, and I’m hoping I’ll have the time to participate in the next one.

Hi, I’m in the Washington DC area and recently got back into collecting after having played back in 2000/2001.
Welcome! Glad to see someone repping DMV ties!
Welcome @Ekk ! It’s great to have you here. Do you collect any specific sets or species? I hope you enjoy your time on the forum.
I recently found my vintage base set to gym heroes cards I’m working on cataloging all of that. Otherwise I’m working on collecting Snorlax and Zorua/Zoroark cards as my main collecting goal.
Welcome @Ekk! Happy to have you around!

Welcome to the forum @Ekk. I hope you have a wonderful time here.
Hey.
Long, long time lurker without an account. I’d like to finally join in on the conversation.
I’m from Canada, I have been involved in the Pokémon universe since the first “craze” in 1999/2000.
I was gifted a deck of beat Unlimited Fossil in the summer of 2000, and I have been buying/selling/trading ever since. I have not really taken any time off.
For the TCG, I mainly focus on Neo and EX Era master sets. I go for any/all variations in the set, however nuanced.
I also have a good amount of singles from all sets and eras, in both International and Japanese printings. I do like European languages a lot, I have a fair amount of French cards (easy enough to source here) as well as German, Italian and Spanish language cards.
I like Bandai Carddass and Topsun gum pack insert cards, too.
I do try to maintain master sets of the ‘mons I like across each and every release, which I update when I can.
I would say that some of the more “interesting” things that I have right now would be;
this misprinted Ivysaur prerelease stamp from English EX Crystal Guardians:
a nice(-r) corrected Blaine’s Charizard, Gym Challenge 2/132:
a French EX Holon Phantoms Mew (111/110), in Holofoil (box topper insert):
and these 3 misprints + a corrected-back POP Series 5 Mew, from the D&P big box store “value pack 1”, with minimal holofoil bleed. The card on the upper right is a Deoxys from Italian EX Holon Phantoms (4/110, regular holo). The card on the bottom right is an Energy Removal 2, from French EX Power Keepers (74/108 regular). The back is truly inverted as well as misplaced. Bottom left (reverse Lairon, Italian EX Legend Maker (38/92)) has marginally better back side alignment, the front is more exaggerated.
I’d like to ask questions as well as try to constructively answer them, to the best of my ability.
Last; I would say my favourite set of all time is EX Power Keepers, second is a tie between EX Dragon Frontiers and Neo Destiny.
- I edited “Energy Suppression 2” to “Energy Removal 2”, my bad, that was a half translation on my part.
Apologies for the novel. Thanks to anyone and everyone who reads this.
Welcome @CR4WD4UNT ! What a wonderful first post. Those cards you posted were really interesting. I’d love to see more of your collection sometime. I think you’d be able to put together an amazing collection thread showing off your favourite cards. I hope you enjoy your time on the forum!
Thank you! I will certainly do that soon. I appreciate your kind words!
I have a good amount of time into this hobby, though I have had to sell my entire collection a few times. Now, my current possessions are the most tailored toward my personal taste than they ever have been, and I’m looking forward to connecting with others interested in this hobby.
Here’s a picture I was just recently able to take: me as a kid (in the background) on the morning of the 25th of December, 2006 holding the very same pack artwork of my 2nd favourite EX Era set as I am able to today, in December 2025. Blurry, I know; but Tyranitar and Tropius use this colour palette exlusively. DSLR tech at the time was what it was, haha.
I opened this yesterday, it had a Meganium rare and a Cyndaquil reverse.
Looking forward to my time here!
