the only thing Legendary Collection and Base Set 2 offer is a new holo pattern. But then again, with gym heroes and challenge, you have like 80+% of the set done by one artist, and it’s just fine. So all 4 of those are on the bottom for me.

Hold on, people are jumping on the Gym sets because they are full of Sugimori art?! Whats not to like? 
I am a massive gym series fanboy though so definitely biased.
Bottom tier has got to be base set 2 and legendary collection (although the reverse LC holos are cool why couldn’t they have done that with new arts? would have been very epic!)

Base 2 and LC. We know why base 2 is F tier. LC is just barely in front of it. The fact it has Dark Raichu and Dark Vaporeon is cool but I also cannot stand the fireworks reverse holos. They look like fake sticker cards and you’re not convincing me to like them lol so do not attempt.

Base 2 was the worst when I was a kid because there was nothing like going to the store and trying to buy cards and only finding Base 2 packs. Pulls felt terrible.

Gyms are definitely the worst, if solely because the Pokémon have their respective gym leaders name in the titles.
Gym sets had the Sugimori art that kids wanted on cards. Most of them were from my gameboy guide and I was excited to finally see them! Also they aren’t reprints like Base 2.

I have nostalgia & attachment to Base 2 because of childhood experience, but I definitely agree that in general it’s probably the worst WOTC printing/re-print. The only thing it has going for it is the holo pattern/swirls and that’s basically it.
I have over half of the holos in PSA 10 and it’s nearly impossible to get a high grade on some of them, so I don’t know if I’ll ever finish it off. Wigglytuff especially is impossible to get in a 10 almost. So I’d say ultimately you’re better off collecting just about anything else from the WOTC era.
