Update: Reclaimed ! Robbery: Stolen CGC 8 Green Label Crystal Lugia

Update 27.07.26: Hey everyone, I just wanted to thank you for reaching out to me ! The police managed to reclaim my card and it’s back in my hands.

Hi everyone, I’m not someone who posts very often, but I have been collecting for over 10 years and have been an avid reader of this forum.

Yesterday, I wanted to sell some of my valuable graded cards and met up with an interested buyer in public. Out of nowhere, he hit me with a sucker punch and tried to get away with my cards.

I was able to fight him off and partially stop him, causing him to drop the cards.

However, in the end, he managed to get away with my CGC 8 Green Label Crystal Lugia.

I have attached a few photos of the card here. I’m going to attach a link with more photos and some videos later today.

The police are already investigating, but I would like to ask for your help in locating the card. If it happens to turn up anywhere, please let me know. The robbery happened in Germany, Neu-Ulm.

My nose is broken, and I am heading in for surgery under general anesthesia later today. The perpetrator is still at large, and I really hope he gets caught so that he doesn’t do this to anyone else.

Thank you for your time!

Best regards

Sorry for your loss and get well soon. Surprised this happened in bavaria, always thought its the safest most civilized state in that country. I do hope they catch him, will be hard jail time for him there unlike in NRW or berlin

Really sorry to hear you were assaulted for cards. I hope your surgery goes well and that they catch the guy!

Also what was this green label designation that CGC used to do?

It used to be for altered cards, mainly inked are the ones I’ve seen in the wild, but I’ve seen autographed cards have them too!

Also I’m sorry @Donny92 this happened to you, it’s really sad to hear this happened over Pokemon cards

That is terrible, hoping you recover well and quickly. Also hoping there was video near by or ??? Not sure how serious the police will investigate for you but maybe make local shops aware as well.

What a horrible experience. I hope the thief is caught, and the card is recovered. I almost wonder if making setups like this would help catch people as well as make great content for the future. (Think watching with a drone, and getting police involved for future justice, and not just for laughs against criminals when I say “content”.) Crazy that cards have came to this extent, and I hope it settles down. This definitely makes the advice of meeting in a safe location like a police station make even more sense.

Sorry all that happened. The green label is super unique and i look for them from time to time. Hope your card shows back up and they catch the scumbag who did it.

Can we get an update about the thief? Any repercussions? Feels like we rarely get a happy ending that involves consequences to actions.

Hey, fellow German here. I’m really sorry you had to go through this, but I’m glad the police managed to recover your card.

I live only about half an hour from Neu-Ulm, so hearing that something like this happened so close by is honestly quite unsettling. I’ve met up with people many times to buy, sell, and trade cards, and your experience will definitely make me more careful in the future, especially with high-value cards. I’ll probably avoid inviting strangers to my home and instead meet in a busy, monitored place.

I hope your recovery is going well and that the attacker faces real consequences.

Awesome news! Id be curious as to how they tracked him down, so as to share this for others that have this happen to them.

Definitely never invite or agree to meetup at your home. If possible meet at a bank or police station. Some Police Stations where I am have dedicated spaces for public marketplace meetups.

Love to see a happy ending to these sort of stories. Still sucks what you had to go through. Lotta scum out there

Makes me happy to see an outcome like this for once. We’ve seen enough threads here and elsewhere of people having their things stolen and most never end with a resolution like this.

Would love to know how they identified this person. They didn’t exactly steal the most fungible slab on the market so it would be hilarious if that’s how they caught them!

That is a happy ending, congrats!
