My wife bought me something from this site www.newcoola.com/ I have never heard of it before and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this site or if my wife just rolled the dice on this one lol
Now this site has added a tracking number to the paypal payment. The tracking number strangely shows that it was sent on the 8th and delivered today. Which is impossible since she literally JUST paid for this item today. Even when you look on the site it shows it was paid for today and somehow sent on the 8th?? I am so confused right now.
Paid for the item today and this was the tracking: 9361289706091173756358
Honestly, your best bet might be to an open at item not described case. That way the seller won’t win the PayPal case by just providing a tracking number lol.
I already opened a case, but I see a link that says “Received the item but wasn’t as described” Should I click that? It says changing the type of problem will escalate to paypal, but I am hesitant to say I “received” the item. I thought having the payment today, but the item sent on the 8th was enough. Should I click the link? I don’t know how I should handle this.
USPS reuses old tracking numbers sometimes so it saying delivered is nothing to worry about. I think I came across that site or something very similar with many items at prices that were too good to be true. Looking at it it’s an obvious scamming site no doubt.
Hopefully they just send you fake cards & that’s it but it is worrying if they have your personal info like card numbers or bank accounts.
If you open an “item not received” case, the seller might be able to provide the tracking # and win the case since the tracking shows it as delivered. That’s why you should open an “item not as described” case. It’s not accurate, but it’s the way to deal with this sort of scam.
I already did because I honestly thought that’s what I was supposed to do. I opened the case and explained myself. I am hesitant to click the “Received the item but wasn’t as described” because wouldn’t that be saying I DID receive SOMETHING? I probably made it easier for them to rip me off
I never encountered that before. And it has my same state, city, etc. My wife clicked a link on FB for some Pokemon figures she thought I would like. I stick to eBay, Amazon, Mercari, etc. She is beating herself up for falling for it. She paid with paypal, I hope that was the safest way. Did a password change just to be sure.
Just had this happen to me on ebay and it seems to be a common scam right now. Its a spoofed tracking number essentially. Through ebay it was reversed quickly through their contact but through paypal you should be able to just call them, give them proof of the dates, and its really easy to see that it isnt legitimate since there is no possible way to get it to you with the dates listed. They should be able to refund you immediately and then theyll likely open an internal fraud case against the seller or just redflag them. Best of luck.
That’s crazy. I can’t believe people can just make up tracking numbers now. Freaking scammers man! If they put half that effort into getting a freaking job no telling what they could do.
I placed the order with paypal and a dummy email to be safe because I was already skeptical, and sure enough I got a tracking number of a packaged that started delivery two days PRIOR to my order being placed. I used Paypal’s resolution center and got all my money back pretty easily.
So yes, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is.
I tried to buy my nephew a 2ds last year off one of these type sites. They seem to pop up around the holidays. They sent me a fidget spinner then wanted me to pay $50 USD to ship it back. Umm, no…
Paypal was inept in my case, but my credit card provider had my back no questions asked.
