Trying to document the origins of some old TCG flip coins (and discovering more!)

Acquired another goody

Is your Google sheet up to date with variants?

Good morning my friend.

I have just updated my spreadsheet with all the variants. I am not sure how to describe the “Metal Lugia No Copyright V2” find, any suggestions? I also did not include the Green Raichu because it’s seemingly a misprint and I don’t want anyone trying to hunt down a 1 or 1 rare thing.

Also, I am now seeking the following coins for my collection:

  • Chansey Cosmos 1999
  • Chansey Cosmos 2000
  • Metal Lugia No Copyright V2

Thank you to this thread for discovering and documenting these variants. I appreciate folks still post in this thread while I am less active. I still care about it very much.

I should have some free time soon. I’l try to launch some site to handle coin lists by generations to each user. Provide some in stock coins and user trading and such.

Since it appears to be a lack of such for coin collectors

update: list for now. it will allow quick filter between all, owned and missing coins for easy listing. Will also feature a link for coins available for quick purchase automatically

It’s mostly done now. It has forums.
the account collection by generations (full coin list not yet uploaded).
Also has the automatic linkingin the collection to buy each coin.
I might launch it here tomorrow but at the start forum and coin base will need to be limited due to cpu power. If I see interest in it I might pay for a premium hosting (30€/1year)

This looks great, I’ve been meaning to build something similar to TCG Collector but for coins for some time now, I just haven’t gotten around to it.

I’ve been (privately) researching/verifying coin variants and their origins alongside some others in the community but I haven’t made anything public (outside of what I’ve shared with Pokemon Coin Fan regarding some coins that were made in China during gen 3 and 4).

If you’re looking for any assistance in data entry/collection/research or development then do reach out, I’d be happy to lend a hand.

Sure. A complete list could be added. The more info the better. Looking at the site I guess it could be something kinda similar instead of sets showing the generations. Although I did not apply the percentage of each user collection in a bar there

images for variants for now, are the same. But I can alter it later on. Images are also the ones from pokemon coin fan.

To use the collection feature an account created on the site is needed. Click account-> create

Edit: Made a few changes to the collection display (graphic) to show better the collection progress and some in code for eficiency

For now in terms of graphics and data it should be done. I’ll leave it like this. Site is up and running, forums also up.

If this gets any track I’ll just finish the coin list and it hould be all done

Hey, just a heads up that I tried to create an account but never got an email to confirm it. I then tried to reset my password but was told that the email failed to send - you might want to check that your SMTP server config stuff is all correct otherwise no one will be able to make an account

Ya I had forgotten to enable the registration. It’s up now no email to be sent to confirm anything it’s registered and logged in instantly
