Trying to document the origins of some old TCG flip coins (and discovering more!)

Good to know what to look out for now! Glad you got another chase coin checked off!

Found a picture of one I’m not entirely sure. But this pic appears to be a Cosmo holofoil Chansey right?

I would agree with you - would you please DM me where you found this?

More locally, ended up buying it with some other coins but will still need to wait a long time to have it on hands to confirm (slow mail and long handling time). The holo caught my atention it appears to me to be cosmo holo not sure tho

Raichu error coin
(found online)

Is that coin for sale, do you know? That’s a sweet find. And this supports the theory that my Chansey coin is a similar misprint. That’s a Raichu on a Gloom blank and my current belief is that my Chansey is on a Raichu blank.

You are a phenomenal coin hound.

It was for sale, but the seller was taking nothing less than 60+k $usd , so I didn’t even bother with getting a link

Lol, good. Pass.

Coin Hound should be a new title for sure!

With the input of someone I know a new confirmed variant of metal lugia coin (just sharing info).
Still mapping the specific region of origin. Also got another for myself photos attached to keep the new info here for catalog.
New variant easier to see on the R trademark. same size and position as the 2001 variant but no 2001 written on the coin

Previous variants for reference:

I’ll be able to share more photos of the new variant once I receive it

Side by SIDE. So this coin is the missing link between the 2000 and 2001 variants.

Decided to try out the scanner on my printer I never use and figured this pic does the coins better justice. Also found a cosmo aerodactyl coin, will report back when it arrives!

This is my first time actually seeing a photo of the WOTC Chansey with the ring around it like the original Japanese flip coin and holy moley that’s a cool variant. However, from a design perspective, I do think that it was the right call on WOTC’s part to remove the ring and extend the lines to the edge.

It was not easy to find! One of my favourites for sure
