I filled out the form, I followed the directions for submission, and then I saw my order for submission was cancelled. Which was extra frustrating because I didn’t get an email or any other notification that it was cancelled.
I contacted Troll and Toad to ask why it was cancelled and if I could resubmit and/or get my cards back.
Anyone else had an experience similar, or any advice?
I have never had problems with them, just sent a large flat rate box full of bulk to them with no problems. Did they get it then decide to cancel? And what sort of bulk were you selling?
Im not sure when they cancelled. I went to check the status yesterday and it said cancelled. I mailed them two weeks ago. It was just Commons and uncommons but like 3000 or so. I guess I’ll call them tomorrow.
So far they responded saying they did not receive my package but would accommodate me when they did receive it. After contacting the post office it seems Troll and Toad refused my package. I have again contacted them asking for more information. I followed their guidelines for submission and will happily try again, but I am not sure why it was refused.
When you packed it were you sure to fill it all the way tightly @queendrifloon? I’ve ordered bulk lots that were horrifically packed that in hindsight I should have refused and that always involved super loose packing with the cards shuffling about. Often times they had filler that was just insufficient and became too compressed and allowed for movement. If you use filler you need to pack super tight.
From their selling guidelines “Most of the damaged packages we receive are large packages containing bulk cards. We recommend that you use void fill to ensure there is no empty space for the cards to shift about. Also, please be aware of how heavy the box is after packing. You may want to double box heavy packages to ensure they are not damaged in transit”.
For reference I ship my bulk only using USPS flat rate boxes and in small, medium, and large boxes I fit 450, 5,000 and 6,500 cards respectively as they fit super tight and all I use to separate rows/types of bulk is 8.5x11" sheets of paper. The boxes are literally solid bricks of cards with no room for movement and I have never had a single issue. I tape the hell out of them in every direction so the box is doing little of the holding and the tape secures from all angles.
I think you are absolutely right-- I tried my best to pack them tightly and securely but I didn’t use a flat rate box so I bet that’s where the problem came in. They said it was received damaged, so now I have to figure out the next steps. I’ll gladly take them back and repackage the ones that aren’t damaged but I just hope my cards aren’t lost to the void.
