You’ve said the only acceptable and correct answer. Pika is and forever will be king.
Porygon is CEO of the metaverse
I’ve always viewed Pikachu as the figurehead. The eternal mascot of Pokemon if you will. Everything else is an elected figure based on popularity. Maybe Charizard is the current president? Perhaps Umbreon will be the next president? Who knows.
Some people that are buying stuff to resell don’t buy the entire store or even 1/4 of it, they just love having a shop and interacting with others online but can’t get a distributor. Those people also have morals and values that they uphold.
I’ve been watching a small creator, and he has genuine joy for having a business and collecting. He dosen’t get mad when people buy from other stores and he loves it when people get stuff for MSRP. He’s a great seller who puts customers first, but has been feeling down due to his small channel not being able to get a distro. I’ve been watching this guy for months and I actually bought a rayquaza card from him, which he shipped immediately. He made me realize that all scalpers are resellers, but not all resellers are scalpers. I want the very best for him, but I don’t know what to do.
Yall may call me naive or try to give me some kind of “truth”, but it’s not gonna be right. I want this guy to be successful, and that’s a tough pill to swallow.
What’s their channel?
SundanceCards:
He has a great community too, usually it’s just the same 6-8 people.
One tough pill that I’ve been thinking about is that it’s significantly easier to fool people than to convince people that they have been fooled.
It seems that collectors especially tend to fall into patterns of confirmation bias, where we select information that aligns with our beliefs too easily and we dismiss information that contradicts our beliefs too easily.
I think we would collectively learn more by being 10% more skeptical of information that aligns with our beliefs and 10% more open-minded to information that contradicts our beliefs.
Was there a specific incident that started you down this path of thought?
I watched a video about someone getting hosed in a pyramid scheme and trying to justify their involvement in light of damning evidence. Then it reminded me about the playtest scandal and how someone’s word (or a company’s promise) can supersede reason, even among highly knowledgeable and skilled collectors.
These pills man. These pills are tearing us apart

I was just dealing with a guy at a card show that wanted to sell his card. He valued the card at 200 but I pulled up sales and saw 175 sales. He pulls up the ebay app and sees the same card said sold for 200 and quote “why would ebay lie.” I tried to tell him how ebay recently-ish stopped showing best offer sales and also why would this other app that just automatically scans for sales say the same exact card (same cert) sold for less than what it shows on the ebay app.
He seemed to legitimately not want to accept that information. I’m sure the fact that accepting it means his card is worth less had nothing to do with it.
The first one is sad af
No matter how much time you take pre-planning a binder and labeling all the slots, you still have a 99.3% chance of making a mistake/forgetting a card along the way. This means you’ll have to spend hours moving every single card in the binder over one spot to compensate for the mistake.

Uh oh, what happened?
4th Print. Zapdos Binder. Rookie Mistake.
I am the 99.3%
