Hello!
I am not sure if this has been discussed before or mentioned (I tried searching around and found nothing) so I hope this is okay to post here.
I have always loved older Japanese sets, and the e-series ones tickle something in my brain. I love the look of those cards. One of my favorites in particular is “The Town on No Map” (Aquapolis) – and specifically the Togetic card.
Like many others I always played the handheld games and collected cards. When “shinies” appeared in games I was always so excited. Well, something weird clicked in my brain and I decided to look through my Togetic cards because the idea of a “shiny” form card sounded cool. Sadly there were none.
However…
upon closer inspection I think Himeno left us a bit of an easter egg on The Town on No Map Togetic.
Below is a photo showing the difference between a shiny Togetic and a normal Togetic. The shiny is circled with Yellow and the regular form in Black.
It is a very subtle difference. A regular Togetic has a red triangle on the forefront of the body. The shiny form has a blue triangle at the front. The defining triangle is usually the highest point on the front of Togetic. The coloring of shiny Togetic is also a slight eggshell color, or a cream/ivory.
Here are some examples of Togetic cards and The Town on No Map/Aquapolis card which I think depicts a shiny form of Togetic.
Shiny togetic:
Notice the blue triangle on the front of the body, hidden partially by the image box .
Other various Togetic cards:
These have your standard red triangle on the front of the body at the forefront/highest point.
You can see on the first example, the blue triangle is in the FRONT of Togetic, which is just like it’s shiny form! There are no other Togetic cards that have the blue triangle on the front of the body. All of them have a red triangle on the front, just like it’s regular form.
I also wanted to mark up what may be another subtle clue as to it being a shiny form. When the light hits Togetic in The Town on No Map/Aquapolis, there is a slight eggshell or cream color on Togetic. This could simply be yellow light, or it could be another hint to show that it is indeed a shiny!
(Used non-holo version to better show the coloring)
Anyway, I thought this was super interesting and I am going to enjoy my shiny form Togetic card! Thanks for reading all of this.
TLDR: The Town on No Map/Aquapolis Togetic is a shiny form of the Pokemon.
