Hi everyone.I have 2 tcg classics collections(eng) and I was thinking about grading all the cards inside so I can enjoy them/display them and keep them 100% safe. How dumb do you think would it be?
It would cost a pretty penny,so idk. Also I’m undecided between psa and bgs,not getting upcharded with psa since the cards are low value is cool, but also trying and getting a black label since we’re talking about 2 copies for each card graded min also would be cool
Just for display? Would you pay that amount for a personal display piece of furniture because thats what you are talking about. Or is it for the value and grade investment as well? What i mean is would you care if they ranged grades from 2-8?
Rather than spending hundreds of dollars on grading fees for relatively cheap modern cards, could you instead buy or build an awesome display for the cards as is?
Mine is not sealed since i wanted to see the cards inside when i bought it but didn’t touch them since then. I do plan to grade the starters but besides those cards i am not grading the rest. I am waiting for PSA grading prices to go down even though i don’t see it happening anytime soon. I don’t see the point of grading both collections if its mainly for display. Personally if i am sending cards for grading they are mainly grail which wont use the bulk service.
Value wise I think it’s where the doubts arise, since with the same money spent on grading fees I can get a decent slab(maybe with today’s prices not so much, but still). The fact I’m grading 2 helps with the low grades question,I can just display the highest grade
With current prices and wait times, you could probably buy four more collections for the price of what you’re paying to grade it. Unless you’re trying to sell it, just keep them raw
Grading the entire set is financially irresponsible at $25 per card at bulk rates. If you wanted a few graded, you could purchase copies already graded in PSA 10. That way, you aren’t screwed if your copies come back in a grade lower than what you’re looking for. You’d also be able to retain the complete set for display purposes.
Honestly, it’s nonsensical, the amount of money you’re going to spend it ridiculous, get yourself a bunch of these and custom order or print some fun labels:
I’m sure you can get a much better discount if you contact the makers directly, or maybe you can find them in mass bulk like in alibaba or something.
I agree, but if it’s so,how come many people actually did it?They were all stores who couldn’t sell the sealed set and tried to move the graded singles+some crazy rich people who liked to waste money?
