Gengar however was indeed a notable example of what I meant. There is a wtb topic here on E4 of a guy searching skyridge Gengar PSA 9 for 1325 USD. If not even the E4 members look at PWCC this means its visibility is too scarce. What will happen once the auction marketplace stars?
On a side note, I’m happy with PWCC’s price/sales history. Much more transparent than Ebay. I’m on team PWCC unless eBay has something with comparable accuracy/transparency.
If they don’t add an option for any sniper like bid option or a way to follow the listings you are interested in everyone is going to have a hard time actually bidding on what they want.
Most people that collect Pokemon aren’t on this forum and are not registered with PWCC. I think there will be opportunity to snag cards at low prices, but I think it will also depend on how many cards PWCC will have available this block. If most people decide to pull out of the auction, then the opportunity may not be there. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
I’m planning on writing myself a bot which I can use to put last-minute bids on their auctions if they don’t provide this functionality out of the box. It’s probably not something I’d release publicly though, as I can’t imagine PWCC would approve. The only thing I don’t like about PWCC is that their auctions end at around 3-5AM for those of us located in Europe.
I bet a pretty decent portion of the people battling for the the high end pokemon-related items on PWCC (the kind that warrants the use of the term “great deals”) are both on this forumandregistered with PWCC, and I think more of them will be by the time the block is happening since people keep touting this as the steal of a century.
In fact, I think it would be an unmitigated disaster for PWCC if the items in this block specifically just completely tanks for everyone, their future credibility is pretty much at stake here. It wouldn’t surprise me if they take measures on that front.
Really could do with watch/follow functionality ASAP for both buying and selling. A vault card I had listed on eBay had 40 watchers or so when they split from PWCC. Is anyone thinking about buying it now? No interest indicators
Yeah that’s one of the biggest “issues” for me too. It’s just really valuable information to gauge interest etc. Also it’s just fun to see people interact with your listings.
This. I think they haven’t done yet since what the seller would see would be disappointing. I removed offer auto rejection from my cards (not obscure cards, quite the opposite) and I don’t get any offer, not even from low ballers. Don’t care actually, since I’m not seriously selling right now, but some concerns begin to arise
Why do you think an item has to be a high end item for it to be a good deal? If your only talking about high end items, then you are probably right. Most pokemon items, even on PWCC, are not high end.
