The Giant Professional Grading Thread

Anyone done a Super Express lately? Just sent off a Shining Zard and hoping to at least get it before end of next month.

Nah, leave it all combined

That’s what happens when you get an actual collector in a position of power

I think this is a great acquisition for PSA. I think it will obviously take quite some time before this process can be implemented but it is nice to see them investing in the future and taking steps to enhance the customer experience. While obviously this may hurt some who crack and resubmit or perhaps benefit from human error - it should ultimately make the process more streamlined and consistent.

I feel like if PSA tried to implement something like this they would lose a ton of money… Think about all the people that submit expecting a 9/10 grade and get lower because they missed something or didn’t bother checking the card twice… PSA is more than happy to take your money and find the dent you missed when you checked the card lol

Just submitted a Super Express last week.

Two cards total; one Luigi Pikachu FA and a DBS Apex of Power.
Received - 4/12
Entered - 4/13
Shipped - 4/15

PSA losing money?

edit; nvm went right over my head for a sec lol

Oh wow thanks didn’t think it would be THAT fast.

I can also confirm Super Express is going that fast. From the day I sent the card out, it took a week for it to get back to me from PSA.

My bold prediction for the graded card market is that 5 years from now, you won’t be able to get a card graded for under $50.
There’s just too much value there for the companies themselves to not absorb it. It sounds crazy but when you understand that things like sports cards will pretty much always financially make sense to grade, then the price rise is inevitable.

That said, something like AI grading has the chance to make it very easy and fast for a company to grade a card, without much labor. So that is the option to go for if a company wants to preserve a cheaper option.

I’m enjoying seeing the companies jockey for position right now. I’d love to see something bold out of BGS next.

I’ve always graded through 3rd party grading companies but decided to use my CGC membership to submit some cards last month.

My First question is: After The package says ā€œdeliveredā€, how long does it take for CGC to show the submission in my account? Currently my account shows that I don’t have any submissions. I’ve expereinced enough waiting in Pokemon to know that I’m 95% okay, but just for peace of mind, it’s killing me.

Second question: I don’t expect Ludkins or Graded Gem to take the time to respond to me but the whole not knowing where my order is at, kills me. Does anyone know if either of these companies have plans to customers more in the loop or is this more of a problem with PSA and CGC themselves and not the third parties?
**Current Bulk submissions:**Graded Gem to PSA (September 2020)Ludkins to CGC ( January 2021)Ludkins to CGC (March 2021)Personal Sub to CGC (April 2021)

I really have no idea where any of my cards are at in the process. If someone came up with a good solution to this, I’d easily pay extra money just for peace of mind.

Another quick query

The grading companies ask for a value

A raw card is worth considerably more

A 6 rated card may be lower than threshold, a mint 10 above?

Do you just go with what your hoping it’ll get / what you paid for it?

Appreciate any guidance

Pentagon

If the card is mint I just do PSA 8/9 prices.

Or you can be like most of the whingers on this forum and value it at $199, submit it under bulk and moan when you get upcharged.

As I have a lot of cards that have value long below 50-100, and is only for collection, i realy hope they will offer low end grading as an option also. To grade a 5-10 Ex Emerald card, that probely only will get PSA 7-8 for my collection is not cool with these prices.

Maybe they should make a step-priscing, where PSA 10 cost the double of lower grader…

Amazing cheers guys

Why do low value cards need to even be graded? Just buy the slabs yourself amd clip them together

I would liike to have some card that i collect together, like my Ditto-collection from Delta Species, and when put opp, i need it Graded as look much nicer
