The Giant Professional Grading Thread

Any other reciving this mail, have not seen any post on PSA that they increase grading fee

Yeah, pretty annoying. There are still a lot of cards that aren’t worth grading at $15 so it sucks to see an increase in Bulk services.

Normally any dents is an auto PSA 6

PSA’s centering standards have changed. From 60/40 on the front and 70/30 on the back to 55/45 & 75/25

It’s obviously not a huge deal really but it is the only time I can remember where PSA have publicly changed their grading scale?

That change from 60/40 to 55/45 on the front is actually pretty big… Now one border can only be about 25% larger than the opposite instead of 50%, which I think will make a huge difference in how easy it is to get a 10

Kind of off topic, but do you think from the playtest situation CGC will end up not grading other “controversial” cards and maybe even remove their authentication on the notorious raichu?

Moved your post here where it is more appropriate.

CGC was willing to take on the highest risks to grade prototypes or errors of all kinds. They bit off more than they could chew and got burned on this one.

I think they will go back to what made them good and use their techniques to verify items are legitimate. They had all this documentation on why the Protostoise was real. They should have applied that same level of standard to the playtest cards, but failed to do so.

New faster tier for $1000 and under cards at PSA

Got a question you all might know:

Just put in a submission the other day for the Turbo tier. Over the weekend I’m getting rdy to send them out and notice there’s what looks like a pen mark(super tiny dot) on the last card in the submission I had somehow missed. I obviously don’t want to send it anymore - it wasn’t comin off and I didn’t wanna mess the card up further.

PSA’s language sounds super draconian, but they’re always really nice in customer service. Yet it says it will cause delays and possibly an extra charge if my submitted cards don’t exactly match the documents.

I already contacted customer service but figured id get a quicker answer here. Can I safely send a different card and they’ll fix it? Or should I just omit the card completely? I’ll still be above the minimum amount. I mostly don’t want it delayed or to get charged more, but wouldn’t mind having a quicker turnaround on one more.

Thanks for any advice.

I would just remove the card and send it a proper card list sheet. 10 minutes now to say weeks of delay later.

That offer isn’t available anymore =/ or I would just make a new submission

(if that’s what you mean by proper card list)

If the price difference isn’t much, I would just use the new priced one. It will quite literally add weeks to your order. I would prefer their hands on my cards as few as possible

yeah it was $25 for the 20 day turnaround now its $40 so yeah when it all adds up it does matter unfortunately.

Might just send in another copy even if it isn’t amazing just to keep things moving. We’ll see if customer service gets back to me. Thanks for the answer.

I accidentally forgot a card out of a like 30 card submission toward end of last year (somehow had put it aside and under a heavy book to try flatten or something), and there was no penalty or effect at all they just acted and charged for 1 less card

Similar experience I had. I added a card that was not on the list. They didn’t charge me extra and simply sent the card back ungraded.
