If this is the official PSA scan, it’s unlikely that these spots are on the case.

This doesn’t look good for a 9. Doesn’t look like dust either.

Looking at a newly eBay listing for a PSA 10 Unlimited Shining Gyarados, was super excited as I am actively looking for one at the moment.
Looking at the back picture, fell this shouldn’t be a 10, especially the top right back corner.
What do you guys think? Still very new to buying 10s, as I mostly bought 9s, would like to get a clean 10.
Edit: didn’t realize the image saved from eBay was this small
Corp the back.
thank you,

It’s not a PSA 10 that I would buy.

That’s what I thought as well, thank you. Just curious if you would consider buying a PSA 10 with 1 white dot corner? Seems lots of the owner WotC slabs have it.

I would consider buying any copy that looks good enough for you regardless of the assigned grade. Newer PSA certs have some very nice scans that you can look up. Personally, I would only buy a 10 if I felt that it would consistently 10. Some 9s are very competitive and even a single white dot can cause a card to flip-flop between grades.

I don’t often buy English Vintage PSA 10s because they regularly look like PSA 9s. If cards meet my subjective standards for a 10, I’ll buy them. Otherwise, I will stick to 9s and save a ton of money.
One white dot would not really bother me. But if there are multiple issues that are easily noticeable, I will not want to buy it.

Facts and most people buying them know this to be true. As much as I love graded cards that significant price difference between a vintage 9 & 10 is literally backed by the slab and that company’s guarantee. I’ve had 10’s that would 8 and 8’s that would 10 on other days, if you want a 10 just make sure the card condition inside is one you can live with and accept it won’t be perfect

Hey Guys
I would be thankful for a second opinion.
With the scratches on the Holo and the strong withing on the lower left side of the back. Is this more likely to be a 4,5 or 6?

I am sorry that I am not adding value to the question you asked, but just for my clarity, even for a Masaki card, does the difference in the grade of 4,5,6 add any significant value from one grade to next? Isn’t it just best to have this as a raw binder copy and save the money spent in grading?
Cheers!

Yes, but I am still curious.

It’s hard to say for sure without seeing better pictures or seeing it in person. I’m sure others in the forum have graded much more than I have, but to me this looks like it would be a 6 at first glance.

Probably a 6. 5 if you’re unlucky and 7 if you’re very lucky.

Recent sub. Concerned with the last card displaying “no grade no charge”
Ive seen these graded by psa in the past… any reason why they wouldnt be grading this?

Isn’t that a jumbo card?
They cost more to be graded and have to be sent at a different service level/tier be return shipped separately etc thats probably why

Gotcha. Super weird that they even let me submit it through the same submission centre then. Since at this tier they actually had the jumbo cards searchable

It also may have happened if the address and name of the person is still on the back of the card. I am pretty sure I remember hearing that if you don’t cover that up then PSA will refuse to grade it now.

It does have the address and name of the winner on the back so that might be the case…

Just saw this video about Beckett refusing to reslab due to the card not meeting it’s minimum grade
. Very oddhttps://youtu.be/sNjHX0bGyrE?si=fM3eV77mzl2Lznkr
