Another interesting bit in that announcement, is they state that half the backlog has already been graded and is just waiting on assembly, and QA1/2. Must be a real logjam at the slabbing machines, or a shortage of plastic slabs.

3.6 million back log, PSA grades monthly 800k-1million cards. 80% means 640k-800k monthly. 3.6m/640k=5.62 months 3.6m/800k=4.5 months. Best case scenario if using 80% of their capacity until the end of the backlog before October 2022, there will be no more backlog.
The worst case scenario is that they are slowly using less capacity for backlog.

Only time will tell to see how many people will submit for $50 a card. I would be surprised if the backlog clearance didn’t stagnate a little due to the increased volume from submitters who have been waiting for lower tiers to open up.

Do we know what percentage of overall submitters are collectors club paid members? 10%?

As in submitters who make up the backlog?

Has anyone done a PSA submission at an event? Wondering if anyone has experience and recommends in person submits, or recommends staying away.

Meaning submitters in general, new or old.

What I dont understand is that I and many others are waiting from 18 months year old submissions and now they are opening a low tier ready to get bombed with cards again. Even claiming a turnaround of 90 business days.

At this point it just feels like a mockery

Yeah I feel for you. 18 months is just ridiculous, they really should be prioritizing people in your situation.

Did you use a middleman? If so that is why it’s taking so long. Middleman services are not sent through retail tiers.

They are not getting bombed at $50 a card, even towards the end of the lottery the number of cards people were submitting at that price had drastically decreased.

This graphic is very interesting. I am assuming (hoping) they are clearing the backlog out in order of date submitted (oldest first). April must have been the peak for quantity of submitted items? They really ought to get through the April 2021 submissions before opening up lower tiers but what do I know!

Did people think that PSA was just going to completely eliminate the backlog and then reopen all lower tiers? They have to reopen tiers incrementally to throttle orders so they can continue to use their entire capacity once they have completed most of the backlog. Value may be a lottery or even open before the early 2021 backlog is gone, albeit the price will probably be higher.

Ludkins, yes. Knowing what I know now I would have never sent my cards. I dont think it’s fair not taking a priority for these kind of middleman shipments when they have been gone for so long. Having patience is fine with just 6 months, even 12 months but we are over 18 months now and still no sign of my cards.

The 90 days turnaround claimed by PSA just feels like a big slap in the face to be honest. I have been patient for so long but that announcement really got to me.

I could and I did for over a year, but it’s hard without knowing what happened with my cards. Knowing something would ease it a little bit, but other then that my cards are gone for 18 months I have also not heard about them for 18 months. That’s probably the worst part.

And truth to be told, there is a lot of money involved in this which is hard to just simply ignore and forget. Maybe to some, but I have made just the two submissions so they are kinda a big deal to me.

In sorry for complaining guys. I am just really frustrated and nowhere to vent this frustration.

I am happy for those wanting to submit PSA that they are opening a cheaper tier again. Definitely opens up the possibility of grading more cards compared to the previous expensive tiers.

If it makes you feel any better we are all in the same boat. I have a couple middleman orders stuck in grading well over a year now. All of my direct orders have already been processed.
