Did you not self-declare your package?

On a similar note, has anyone ever had to claim for a lost package via Tenso?

I declared at the correct value and have paid the insurance like usual. The package has been ‘exported from origin country’ for 6 weeks now… I emailed Tenso but they seem to think I wont get a refund despite me paying for insurance lol

Unfortunately yes.

If your package was already off the plane and in Canadian customs then it’s on Canada Post to deal with the rest of its journey, and you should be able to track in Canada Post’s systems with the same tracking number. Just call them instead if you want more details.

I did declare all the values-- you have to complete it for customs information on Blackship.

@rabby250 Wow it is already available in Canada Post! Thanks for the heads up! That makes it a lot easier if I need to contact them. Apparently delivery is expected within 1-3 days. Whether that actually happens… lol

Ah hmm, how to put it…did you do the “good Canadian” thing of declaring the actual value?

I may have slightly under-declared… but honestly nothing in the package is super expensive, its all modern binder cards. Perhaps why its taking so long :smiling_face_with_tear:

If the package was declared as a gift the value needs to be under $50 CAD or else you’ll be charged with duties and customs may open your package. Otherwise it needs to be under $20 CAD. It’s absolutely ridiculous that these amounts haven’t been updated since the 1980s but that’s a whole other discussion entirely.

Unless you were shipping your cards in a massive package customs only looks at the declared amount. They’ll ignore it if it’s under those limits specified above. I’m not going to tell you what to do in the future but Tenso and Blackship do allow you to declare your own value (Buyee doesn’t). Make what you will of that.

I declared it as trading cards because they are exempt to taxes in this tax holiday. Im betting they hold it until the tax holiday ends (02/15) and then ding me.

Im pretty sure blackship sends it in a massive box, plus ive heard customs often inspect packages from Asia more thoroughly (whether thats actually true, who knows). Ive had blackship stuff not get charged before, but it does often get stuck in customs either way. Had one of em stuck in anchorage for like 3 weeks one time lol

That’s good to hear!

Pro tips for every E4ers who are trading cards internationally:

If you had no idea who the carrier was but got a tracking number that looks like (2 letters)(9 numbers)(2 letters), it’s most likely an S10 tracking number which indicates that the package is handled by post offices. You might hear various service names such as Priority Mail, Royal Mail, EMS or more, but you can be certain the package is handled by post offices as long as the tracking number is in S10 format.

Since S10 tracking numbers are accepted by almost all post offices, you can just look it up in your own country’s post office. Most 3rd-party tracking websites are also able to track S10 numbers so you can use those as well.

If you have questions with any delivery, check the latest status first to see if the package had arrived at your own country (whether it went past the customs or not), if yes then it should be easier to contact your own country’s post office. If it’s still in the sender’s country, it’s faster to contact the post office on the sender’s side, but you can also try routing your questions through either the sender or your own country’s post office. If the last status is “left originating country”… Good luck lol

I’m working on a purchasing the following starter deck box. It’s a 0061 era box, so no no-rarity cards will be in it. I’ll never know anyway because I’m never going to open it! LOL! Any red flags anyone can see here? Thanks!

From the photos, nothing stands out as an issue. Out of curiosity what did you pay?
