日本のマーケット部分 The Giant Japanese Market Thread

True. For example, a PSA 10 of the Precious Collector Pikachu is regularly going for $300+ on Japanese marketplaces such as Yahoo Auctions while it is still ~$220-250 on eBay.

Ditto for 2006 Autumn Battle Road Championship Arena.

Seem like great value when you could get either one for less than a psa 10 english moonbreon

Mercari is getting overrun by bootlegs, both ungraded cards and those in fake PSA cases. These sellers are mostly targeting high-value vintage chase cards (e.g., gold stars, crystal cards, trophy cards) and modern chase cards (e.g., Umbreon VMAX, Gengar VMAX, XY promos such as the ponchos, warm pikachu, etc.).

Be careful out there, folks!

Anyone see this PSA 8 Illustrator sell for $720,000 yesterday? That would be one of the highest sales of an Illustrator to date if real.

Crypto-fueled purchase? Market manipulation? So many unanswered questions on why someone would overpay by so much.

Does Fanatics do something like offers/selling behind the scenes?

Like could someone had made an offer deal through their rep, sold at what ever agreed, then the original listing shows sold? Does seem odd when a 9 sold for almost 1/4 the month prior.

everyone knows that a cgc 9 is a psa 5 /s

At least back in the PWCC timeline you could talk to your rep to hunt for cards even if they were not listed for sale by the owner

It could just simply be coincidence but the fact I’m a teeny tiny seller with hardly any presence on eBay….to get 3 messages this close to each other about the same card makes you ask questions about what’s going on. :

This is usually an indication to not cut any deals. It will sell for your asking price shortly.

I receive the same amount of questions/outreaches on stamp promos currently

It’s been relisted. Fake sale.

Shocker (not).

I spent 5 minutes on IG today and saw this mentioned about 10 times, with sellers referencing this sale for a raised price on their own illustrator. Such a fickle market!

So once again, 1 purchase and 2 other messages all relating to the same card (different card from previous post). All in within a 1-2 hour window? eBay algorithm sending people to my page? Viral video showcasing the card on TikTok? YouTube Short?

Sometimes this happens to me right before the card sells. I always thought my listings became the cheapest or just the most viewed

this is genrally a clue to raise price or at least not accept best offer
