Pretty substantial pop increase of a very rare card. Someone is grading en masse and dripping them every few months to Fanatics Collect.
4 in May 2024
8 in August 2024 (200% increase in 3 months)
14 in October 2024 (350% increase in 5 months)
It’s the only Arceus design contest promo with such a huge increase in the pop, and 67% are grading PSA 10.

I’ve been following this. The link is no longer valid, but I believe this is the vendor from which these cards were acquired. The name matches the card’s illustrator.

I wonder if a large card shop in Japan reached out and bought up the inventory to drip grade/sell every few months over the next few years. I can’t imagine that the winner of the design contest is going through all the effort of grading them at PSA, sending them to Oregon to sell with Fanatics Collect, and then rinse/repeat 100x over.
Regardless, I’m curious how it’s going to affect the price of this specific promo as more come to auction and PSA 10s are pretty easy to hit.

The supplier i know has been dropping his price daily… boxes at 67usd before shipping.
This didn’t age well but im also not sure why. No sign of a reprint, i think possibly the international demand just tanked with singles becoming readily available and Prismatic on the horizon.
For anyone selling Japanese cards currently, worth being aware of price uptake.

Just doesn’t make sense lol. In one evening, the prices across all my middlemen in Japan went from 16000 yen for TF to 12000.
Obviously all these middle men in Japan are fed through one big supplier. With no reprint that was suggested or even shown in japan, looks like someone wanted to sell through their stock really quick.
Lowest prices right now are 12000 that I have been told.

This card in particular has had such a wild ride! In 2023 it went from $500 to $3500 in like a month, then back down to $750ish a few months after. Then it continued all the way down to $250, and now it’s skyrocketing again…
Everythings gone up so fast out of nowhere and it feels kinda artificial. I actually feel bad about my items going up. Because making any buy to grade ‘plays’ right now just feels mad risky

Why does it feel like it’s cheaper to buy Japanese on western sites than on Japanese sites right now…SNKRDUNK in particular for singles is going absolutely nuts in comparison to eBay.
