日本のマーケット部分 The Giant Japanese Market Thread

I know this isn’t a market question but for Japanese E2 Town on no map, did the energies at the end like dark energy and rainbow energy not come in 1st edition? I have been looking for some pictures of the set and noticed that the three energies are of unlimited version in the pictures. I just found it a bit strange so if someone could enlighten me that would be much appreciated. Thanks

Well the more insane it gets, the harder it is to ignore.

They might not be able to make changes for the next sets which might be printed already, but they can certainly start.

The current trajectory is unsustainable.

I’m sure the current trajectory for the Pokémon TCG is good all things considered from the point of view of the manufacturer. Second-hand sites are a grey area that Nintendo/Pokémon have no choice except to live with, but they wont ever give any official recognition to the prices of cards on there. I think we can see they only ever step in if the product on the ground floor is being negatively impacted, such as sealed new product. Even then they haven’t done such a good job of putting product into regular consumer hands. They set a path and they stay on that path. That is the Japanese way lol.

I don’t think your info is wrong. There were 100 participating stores, with max of 50 participants in each store. So the number should be 5k.

Maybe (and this is just my guess) people are not aware? Since the whole 100 deck has 2 of these hyper balls. It looks exactly the same barring the promo stamp. The second being that it’s a ball so not much demand as a Pokemon.

Cheers!

Cool, I wasn’t sure if perhaps they had another round of tournaments or something. As I did see an increase of start deck 100 listings on mercari but that might just be a coincidence

Lugia V alt art looks like it will take over Moonbreon? Now its price is selling like crazy!!

The release date was 24 hours ago… Give it some time to settle.

Regular V Lugia is better than the alt art anyway. Unless Lugia a** is your kinda thing.

In japanese booster boxes (as in english as a matter of fact), there is a guarantee to have a secret rare (100% or 99% it’s possible but very rare not to have any) HOWEVER, there is no guarantee to have an Alternate Art (and the one you want).

Nobody knows about the pull rates, but more secret rare you have in a set , more difficult it is to pull a chase card from a booster box. So linking the booster box price to the chase card is not entirely correct (unless you have a lucky charm)

Most likely, more boxes you open and more chance you have to get it:

  • over 6 boxes, your alt art will cost you over 30 000 yen and hopefully you not only got the one you want but also others secret/alt. Over 18 boxes, your alt art will cost you close to the 100 000.

So for some people, it’s financially cheaper to buy single rather than buying 6+ booster boxes and not getting what they want.

Having said that, pricing are current “bubbly” for Luigia alt art. I think, Unfortunately, LGS get the booster boxes before others, open them and from there control the market at pre release and shortly after (well same as in english, and with flippers controlling the graded market shortly after release). So Prices are irrational and fomo makes people commit mistakes.

I would wait couple of weeks after the frenzy dies out to evaluate the correct pricing.

There’s another unlimited PSA 10 Crystal Charizard up for sale tonight on PWCC. Currently at $14,400 after the buyer’s premium. We’ll see where it ends up!

Still high for that card I feel like. What’s your guess for final price?

I have no clue. Less than $40,000 if I had to guess. Let’s go with $26,000.

That still seems high for that card lol. I’m guessing 20k

Really curious what that Japanese charizard will end at. Fire whatever reason I can’t see sold items after they end

What did it end up selling for? I can’t find it lol

It sold for $15,000 even. Much, much lower than the $40,800 sale from last week.

Yeah that’s really strange how expensive it was last week. I still think 15k is high for the card but maybe it’s on the up
