What a copy to set the 2nd highest public sale price on

I’m curious if prices for this card will be steady in the 40k range now, or if will see a huge retrace like back in 2023.

As of right now, multiple copies since either Sept or Oct have all sold in the 40k range, this being the highest I think.

Curious to see what the future holds.

Including buyer’s premium, it actually broke the $50K mark!

(Edit - sorry just realised it’s a different copy!)

Im hoping for a light drop.. Its the last holo I need to complete the set in PSA9… Not paying 50K though… I wish I bought it earlier but it is what it is..

Personally I think there will be a drop but idk by how much.

During Covid, the card shot up to 55k from maybe 10k. Then by 2023 it was back down to the 20k range.

Now this card last year was around 25k so seeing it double as fast is it did, could mean we might see a repeat of it falling into the 30k range. However this is just all speculation based on what I remember from when I bought mine (2018) till now. Markets are irrational, but we can try our best to predict a rational outcome.

I could also say maybe the 30th anniversary pushes it higher or maybe keeps it where it is and we don’t see that retraction.

Interesting little occurrence today, Ascended Heroes booster bundles dropped on Pokémon Centre and stayed in stock for a couple of hours. I THINK there was a very brief period around 2:20pm EST where you could go onto the site with no waiting room at all and just buy the product (I heard this from a chat I’m in, but saw for myself stuff was still in stock with only an 8 minute waiting room a little before that).

If this is the case, then I believe it would be the first time that has been possible since Prismatic pre-orders a year ago.

Possibly a slight glimmer of healthier modern availability.

Would be a good sign, but man the bar is low right now lol

To help calm the nerves a lot of modern cards are down right now and Millotic even dropped to 94 bucks. modern singles are getting even lower than I thought. Even some Rayquaza cards are back to pre boom prices…

Hey everyone, quick question.
Tonight a few vintage PSA 9 cards on the official PSA Vault eBay account went way over normal market price.
I checked the bid history and noticed something strange:

  • One bidder with only 2 total purchases on eBay
  • 100% of their bidding activity is on PSA Vault auctions only (238 bids last month)
  • Repeated suspicious bid jumps within a specific auction (looks like price-pushing)

Screenshot showing a snippet of his history attached.

What do you think? Is this shill bidding?
Does eBay monitor this kind of pattern?

Yes, probably shill bidding from the owners who listed their cards. PSA Vault allows people to shill their own cards through eBay with no repercussions.

No, definitely not. They almost never step in.

Wow… I’m honestly a bit shocked about that. I really wouldn’t have expected something like this from a reputable company like PSA.

And I’m also surprised that eBay just lets it slide — it’s against their own rules, and in some countries shill bidding is considered fraud / criminal offense.

I’m not sure that you understand how the PSA Vault works. Individual consignees who store cards in the vault will list their cards on eBay, either in auction or as a Buy-It-Now.

PSA as a company does not condone the practice of shill bidding - they simply serve as a storefront for people to list their cards. If the card is paid for, they ship it or transfer it to the buyer’s vault. Otherwise, it is relisted or kept in the vault without a listing. Any bad practices such as shill bidding or listing worthless cards for millions of dollars is the behavior of the consignee, not PSA.

A lot of modern cards are stabilizing right now and some rayquaza cards are dropping too. I’m going to personally pull the trigger soon on some of those cards I’ve been talking about and put them in my collection.

Hilarious bundle by Pokemon Center, still trying to offload the Battle Academy. It still remains the only product in stock that has some resemblance of a card in it. I am now curious how many they sold through the bundles over the past couple of years.
