…What service is ebay authenticity providing again? Cuz this security “seal” is pathetically incompetent. I could simply open this sleeve, insert any slab I want.
I’ve had ebay auth sleeves split, come un-stuck on their own, basically ebay auth means you cannot return it unless you have a “wrong item” issue, and I think they cover that now too, as I’ve been asked if I want an item that is “authentic” but does not match the listing.
They’ve just launched eBay Authenticy in the UK - It’s on all cards over £500 - the QR on the back is scannable and shows the listing to what you purchased.
Ah! Good point. You can verify that the card matches the one in the sleeve. I’ve never tried scanning it so I should. The whole “void if removed” thing is still pointless tho.

One of the biggest uses of PSA Vault these days is to anonymously sell mislabeled or counterfeit cards to unsuspecting buyers.
New buyers see a PSA encapsulated card, a cert that shows up as authentic, and a listing from none other than PSA, surely it must be a real card.

Love finding a great deal; only to be charged for tracked shipping, getting untracked shipping so they can pocket an extra $5. Finally, never shows up.

The boom has definitely brought out a lot of people selling on eBay that are not the standard sellers. I’ve had a massive uptick in big/small eBay issues with purchases. It is like a 1 out of 5 chance now with every purchase. If it doesn’t go missing, it arrives shipped in nothing but a card saver, creased and chewed up by the post office sorting machine. 
What can you do…
