Lemme slide into her DMs then. “Its seems young Vert needs a strong father figure to get these shenanigans under control. His hooliganism and immaturity has gotten out of hand as he is harassing random people on ebay. Dont you worry now, I understand your struggles with the troubled scamp, you dont have to be alone in this. He just needs a better direction to focus his frustrations but maybe we can meet up to talk about it more…:wine_glass::wink:”

Actually nevermind, that felt gross just typing out. Next time im sending swoobot to do this kinda dirty work.

Indeed. It’ll teach them to get better at internet security, and or own their mistakes.

…But it’s not Ebay Auth… darn…

I assume this is a prime example of a resealed box?

another?

It could be that it’s not great seal quality? I’m not an expert by ANY means on PkMn shrink wrap seals. It does appear tho, that it is shrink wrapped, so if re-sealed, perhaps re-wrapped.

Unless it’s a reputable seller, assume everything is opened or weighed.

Is returning a card for a printing defect me being Ebay Garbage?

I bought a Mega Charizard Y 294 described as near mint. It arrived, and its got those small pinprick indents all over the back, that im sure anyone who collects modern would be familiar with. As a seller its hard to show them off in images, they dont show up well on camera. Usually if I’m selling something with this defect I mention it in the description and try to show it off in the images.

I messaged the seller asking to return and he politely said I was being ridiculous. It’s a printing defect and therefore the card is still brand new, near mint and matches what he described.

Personally I feel like I spent ÂŁ360 on a damaged card that was supposed to be near mint.

Looks like the seller deleted the listing but I recently reached out about a Southern Island Ledyba to upgrade mine so my full set has swirls. Listing has four pics of the front, none of the back, all in a top loader and sleeve combo, listed as LP, looks damn decent. I ask the seller to send pics of the back… he sends me two more photos of the front and wouldn’t you know it the surface is cooked and two creases are now clearly visible that weren’t on the listing nor reflected in the grading. Needless to say I won’t be doing business with them any time soon.

If it’s present and it wasn’t mentioned I don’t care if I watched you pull it out of the pack, that card is not near mint. I don’t think you’re out of line asking for a refund at all.

TL;DR
You’re justified, if you want to be. I might accept it depending on the value… but you shouldn’t have to.
“Near mint” is not a description of the history of the card, but the condition of the card in hand.

I don’t care is if was pulled in a vaccuum-sealed clean room by smpratte himself, and has never touched open air. If it has a dent or “pitting” as you say, it’s at beast “Excellent” or “light play” depending on the extent of damage.

Too Long
A lot of newer buyers/sellers don’t understand this.
If the card has a corner chopped off from the factory, it’s still damaged, even if it’s flawless.
“Excellent” is the only highly subjective condition, as the foil could be perfect, but there’s some edgeware… But NM Must Not have any damage or physical defects to the structure of the card: scratches, dents, creases, flaky finish, pitting. Only edgwear is acceptable on NM, and then, not too much, as if it were played.

…What service is ebay authenticity providing again? Cuz this security “seal” is pathetically incompetent. I could simply open this sleeve, insert any slab I want.

I’ve had ebay auth sleeves split, come un-stuck on their own, basically ebay auth means you cannot return it unless you have a “wrong item” issue, and I think they cover that now too, as I’ve been asked if I want an item that is “authentic” but does not match the listing.
