I don’t know if it’s me getting older and more perceptive of things, but I see glaring examples of D-K on a daily basis. Professionally and in my hobby interations (TCG and video games).
I think google and AI has made people think they know everything. Google philosophers!
It’s especially ironic considering that even if someone did pull a card from a pack with this exact misprint, it wouldn’t be desirable as misprint anyway, because it can be reproduced by just cutting off the corner yourself, as this seller demonstrated.
This is why I believe trying to deal with a buyer who misrepresents or omits sales data to be not worth your time.
This marketplace buyer had previously sent sales data from 4-6 months ago on an item that has since increased in price. When I told him to look up current ebay sales data, he uses ebay . com instead of ebay . ca and tries to pass off USD sale prices as CAD sale prices (for reference 1 USD = ~1.37 CAD).
I call him out on his bluff. He admits to it and still tries to lowball me. Was saving $20 really worth all this effort?
Absurd!
I eat my food off Rusty’s business cards they’re so clean!
edit
I work around and with the general public. On occasion, I /my team gets randos walking up to us on the street doing this kinda thing. Do I have stories! I naturally laugh and bow to the absurd which has gotten me in trouble (hehe) but people is cray-zee!
This was an interesting one, almost a year later. Couldn’t help but burst out laughing when I saw it lol
Also had someone offer me a tattoo in trade for a shining crobat box for a YouTube video they were making (?) but I couldn’t find the chat
ALSO had someone negotiate and agree to a deal, arrange a time, and I went over to their house to drop off and sat outside for 20 minutes while they ghosted me, ended up leaving with my item. Then they had the audacity to say “you don’t have to be rude” after I said thanks for wasting my time and money
Facebook Marketplace goons are a new breed of deranged. The amount of successful sales you will have there versus how many people will just lowball, ghost and gaslight you is rarely worth saving an extra 10%-15%.
Not sure whether it’s completely right in this thread but didn’t want to create a new thread for this minor issue I have with a buyer, maybe somebody here can help me with how to handle it.
I had a buyer buying two cards of me for a total of 6€ plus 2.80€ shipping (total 8.80€). I usually send my lower value shipments in an envelope + toploader (never had any issues with it).
The buyer wants me to send the shipment directly to the post office branch (it’s both the address he used and he sent a message with the purchase where he again specifically requested it). I just did some research and online it states that it’s not possible to send envelopes/letters to the branch but only packages. This is not possible for me as with my local postal carrier this would cost 12.90€ per shipment.
I am really unsure what I should do about it. I already contacted the buyer about this issue and I am awaiting his reply. I am afraid that I have to cancel the sale - might this lead to any issues for me? I don’t want to get negative feedback for an issue that’s not my fault.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Edit: just for context, the buyer profile was established in April 2025 and it appears that he already has a couple of thousands of purchases.
Yeah exactly, total about 9€ while shipping a package with Austrian Post to Germany (his location) would be about 13€.
I just offered untracked, uninsured standard shipment in the listing. He did not specifically request a certain shipment method but to have the shipment send to his local post office branch. I then did a quick Google search and on the website of the German Post they state that it’s only possible to send packages to the post office but no letters and envelopes. It would be no issue at all if he would just want the shipment to be sent to the address where he lives.
Regarding his feedback: seemed odd to me as well, might this be the case when he for example bought multiple cards from the same seller that he gets such a weird looking feedback?
He may have legitimate reasons for wanting delivery to a certain office, but the limitations of that office are not your responsibility to plan for. If he purchased the card without checking on your shipping services, it’s totally on him. Many stores, carriers do not deliver to PO Boxes.
So, Is he asking to change the delivery address from his registered eBay address? That’s a big Red Flag.
No the registered eBay address is the postal office as well. He just wrote a message where he again specifically stated that delivery should be made to his local post office.
I know that he might have valid reasons to request to have the shipment to be sent not to his private address, I am not doubting those. It’s just that, as you said, it’s not my fault that they don’t accept envelopes over there, the standard way on how those cards are shipped.
Yeah, it’s a toughie if he’s not asking to change the address.
But I’d say, if you KNOW it’s going to be refused, then you’re justified in cancelling the order, because you can’t ship to his address. In My Opinion…
