A buyer bought 5 cards, then opened a cancellation request the next morning, saying they wanted to ārenegotiate a deal for more cardsā. Extremely frustrating.

Clearly a chronic pessimist, which I canāt really blame them for in todayās world. I always prefer to look on the positive side, but whatever rubs your buddha.
Some of the worst buyers are the ābestā sellers. Tho, they might be a great sellerā¦ But, I think not if they immediately assume the worst and write you a manifesto about it.

I typically send an invoice before payment, which avoids these types of things, but this buyer (xfixyourbrainx for those who care) had autopsy setup which prevented me from doing that. Iāll give them the benefit of the doubt that I did something unexpected, which Iāll learn from, but they certainly went from 0 to 100 real fast which made me regret my decision to sell stuff again pretty quickly.

for pokemons in general most of the time the combined wont work out anyway b/c as soon as it is >250 you will have to ship separately to the authenticator
Yeah, I typically sell slabs so I donāt have to deal with this, haha. Believe it or not, this reaction was for about $150 of cards with no single card selling for more than $55, haha.

First rule of eBay. Never contact a buyer unless you have to.
In this case that extends to proactively sending partial refunds.

Arenāt pre-orders illegal on eBay (against seller policy)? I canāt remember seeing sellers listing pre-orders for individual cards outside a retail shopā¦ 
Pre-orders are ok on ebay as long as your handling time reflects the pre-order timeline. You will get dinged by ebay if a pre-order goes beyond your handling time.
