The Giant eBay Garbage Thread

Yeah, that stuff exactly. It hasnt gotten to me too bad yet… Guess I better keep it that way if they don’t act on it =/

I do love a bit of righteous indignation and internet crusading for justice. Not today, I guess.

Oh man, yeah, the “not” one is awful.

The only one I struggle with is some other TCGs where it seems appropriate to say its not the foil version. I stick to ‘normal’ but don’t think everyone who says ‘non-foil’ is playing dirty.

yes agreed. “non-holo” is the standard term across all card games and has been that way since the ancient times of the 90s. But it definately is not good for the way keywords work in these complicated search algorithms. Which is precisely why having the fill outs for the meta data tags is in theory so good. But its either ignored or abused quite often.

It stood a chance if it was thrown in a #6-3/4 envelope, even without a card saver or top loader.
But that envelope is way too big, USPS employees are folding that or gripping it hard

I’m getting really tired of this.

If it’s egregious, and the listing is terrible, then I ain’t messing with that. It’s really a “depends” answer. I understand that, as a small seller, sometimes you set some parameter that gets propagated to other listings. …crap! But if the listing has a lot of care and precision put into it otherwise… there are a lot of lines there. Things get missed.

I gotta laugh, but I’m sad for you too. That sucks. I’ve received 100$ dollar cards thrown in PWE or bubble mailers with no rigid stuff, and I’ve received $2 cards packed like they came from the treasury dept.

Sometimes, people just use what they have and don’t care enough. It’ll be interesting to see if they complain that it got wrecked… Shame when people do this. Maybe thought he was being clever charging a lot in shipping and sending in simple heavy envelope?

it wasn’t heavy. It was printer paper thickness.

I will admit I feel an undue amount of panic when I realize - for instance - I left squirtle as a fire pkmn due to using “list similar item”

I do think it’s often pretty easy to tell btwn malicious use and honest mistakes tho and hope buyers would give some leeway. I doubt those things would cause any fuss.

sometimes I see sellers post cards where they put up the wrong image, or they list they say its from the wrong set(a common one is mixing up Firered/Leafgreen and Expedition) and I always message them and I’d say %90 of the time I get a thank you. The inverse of reporting clearly fake/scam listings to ebay.

Not sure how useful money in a piggy bank is going to be for an online eBay purchase :joy:
