The Giant Deal Thread

The borders are a big giveaway imo. Old back Japanese borders have a different color and they’re a little thinner. The back looks pretty legit, but they probably got a real card & overlaid a fake print onto it.

How’d you know?

It looks like it uses this holofoil from a known counterfeit.

Here are a few more foil variations used by this producer: One, Two, Three.

That David star looks more pronounced on the mewtwo, interesting.

If one of you guys here bought this…

Please let me know if it ends up being legit. I was watching but didn’t have the balls to outlay $2000+ on a 1 feedback seller shipping from Hawaii and selling for half of market value. If it was legit, I’ll buy the 1st zard off you

I’m thinking he must have accepted something around 2.7-3k considering he had that listing up for $3k start, took it down and relisted it at $2.25k

Everything looks to be in pretty good condition for grading and the Zard, even in that condition, alone makes it worth that price, definitely a steal

If I saw correctly the offer accepted was $2500. Steal of the year if seller and cards are legit.

meh its an okay price, that zard is beat up.

Check the other thread here where the zard that was literally held together by tape sold for $1400 lol PSA 4s have been going for around $4000 recently and the shadowless Blastoise looked okay too

It’s not the craziest steal but it’s still a steal in the sense that the buyer can easily flip the base 1st zard and profit a good amount while keeping the other cards which seem to be mint

2500 is an extremely good deal given the guarantee for a graded charizard to get a much higher premium. awesome buy if someone here picked this up.

Great analysis! I see the same pattern when adjusting the levels.

Auction now at 108,000 yen

@pokecollectoramy, the $1400 zard didn’t sell. It was relisted for 1220 OBO

Auction is ag 200k yen. The seller states in the questions/answers that the holo part has stars.. wtf

in other news: a 1st edition base box going on auction on Heritage 8/21!

pkonno’s latest Raw Kang sold for $25K! I did not go after this one because I seriously suspected the deep scratch on the back was on the card (I tried replicating it by scratching a card saver and was never able to get that much white to show up on my experiment photos, it only looked similar when I scratched a common old-back card and placed it inside the card saver)

I am really curious if someone here got it and can share the condition once they receive it, hopefully it was just the card saver and pkonno was just lazy taking pictures!

Woah I thought it was just a reflection + the 25k was a great price for a potential psa 9/10 card. I would imagine its mint because of how most of pk’s card are, but who knows. He is well aware at this point that most of his cards are being bought by foreigners that have no buyer protection.
