The Giant Deal Thread

All the same seller just flooding the market. We saw about four sets total in the 2-3 years up until now.

Yeah they all have been from the same seller. Selling through the lot he uncovered. This is the first time that I’ve seen them available for sale in A) new condition and B) in any quantity. Once he sells through his lot I wouldn’t expect more to be available for quite a while.

Has anybody checked to see how many he has? Could be a thousand or only 10.

I didn’t get a straight answer out of him. From what I’ve been able to get on them he had around 30 sets. Now likely around 10 sets remain. But he wasn’t very forthcoming with a true number, he’s playing the “only a couple more” game.

That’s why you gotta speak as if you’re going to buy all of them when you ask lol.

Interesting article about that massive collection that recently sold on ebay: www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/05/feature_an_extraordinary_pokemon_trading_card_collection_and_a_life-changing_sale

That was a nice wholesome read, looks like the collection went into the right hands

Now I want to know if the cards safely arrived to the buyer’s house (and if they were “pristine” :stuck_out_tongue:).

quite a few very cool cards sold on yahoo japan earlier today. 2 championship arena black star promos, and a 2003 victory orb in very nice condition.

I got one of the championship arena’s, anyone pick either of the other 2 cards up?

Did you get the near mint/mint one or the one with some edgewear? I did place a bid on the championship arena for 50000yen but hey, it sold for 52000yen

Link them lads

Actually there were some cards even more interesting today on YJA (they have been unnoticed … fortunately for me)!
I will show them when I will receive them, I am sure that some of you will recognize them and know where they come from (and which priceless cards the seller (still?) have in his collection) ^^

even more interesting. that must be pretty interesting

This

the ones I know about already all ended 8 hours ago. dunno what kind of secrets linkdu is hiding with these “priceless” cards

The seller who was selling the two Championship Arenas had some unusual stuff. He had some square cut Japanese Gym series holos and some blank white cards also, along with an Enlish e-series lot among other listings. I don’t know if that’s what linkdu is talking about, though.

Why are these promos so pricey? :?

trophy card

“In Japan, this card was first available as 1 of 2 possible winner’s prizes in the Champion’s League 2017 event at each Pokémon Card Festa 2017 venue. To qualify for a winner’s prize, competitors in the Junior and Senior Leagues had to reach the Climax Stage, which required a win at the First Stage and 3 consecutive wins at the Premier Stage. Competitors in the Master League could qualify for a winner’s prize by reaching the last 16 in the tournament. Pokémon Card Festa 2017 was held at the Nagoya Trade & Industry Center, Nagoya on May 5, 2017; at Makuhari Messe, Chiba on May 20 and 21, 2017; and at Intex Osaka, Osaka on May 28, 2017. It was awarded again as 1 of 2 possible winner’s prizes at the 2017 Okayama Champion’s League, held at the Cooperative Okayama Prefecture Wholesale Center, Okayama on May 14, 2017. The top 16 competitors of the tournament were awarded either this card or Lunala. This card features the Champion’s League 2017 logo in the bottom left corner of the illustration.”

Wow those are horrible as trophy cards. Wouldn’t feel very special to win one.
