Yeah they all have been from the same seller. Selling through the lot he uncovered. This is the first time that I’ve seen them available for sale in A) new condition and B) in any quantity. Once he sells through his lot I wouldn’t expect more to be available for quite a while.
I didn’t get a straight answer out of him. From what I’ve been able to get on them he had around 30 sets. Now likely around 10 sets remain. But he wasn’t very forthcoming with a true number, he’s playing the “only a couple more” game.
Did you get the near mint/mint one or the one with some edgewear? I did place a bid on the championship arena for 50000yen but hey, it sold for 52000yen
Actually there were some cards even more interesting today on YJA (they have been unnoticed … fortunately for me)!
I will show them when I will receive them, I am sure that some of you will recognize them and know where they come from (and which priceless cards the seller (still?) have in his collection) ^^
The seller who was selling the two Championship Arenas had some unusual stuff. He had some square cut Japanese Gym series holos and some blank white cards also, along with an Enlish e-series lot among other listings. I don’t know if that’s what linkdu is talking about, though.
“In Japan, this card was first available as 1 of 2 possible winner’s prizes in the Champion’s League 2017 event at each Pokémon Card Festa 2017 venue. To qualify for a winner’s prize, competitors in the Junior and Senior Leagues had to reach the Climax Stage, which required a win at the First Stage and 3 consecutive wins at the Premier Stage. Competitors in the Master League could qualify for a winner’s prize by reaching the last 16 in the tournament. Pokémon Card Festa 2017 was held at the Nagoya Trade & Industry Center, Nagoya on May 5, 2017; at Makuhari Messe, Chiba on May 20 and 21, 2017; and at Intex Osaka, Osaka on May 28, 2017. It was awarded again as 1 of 2 possible winner’s prizes at the 2017 Okayama Champion’s League, held at the Cooperative Okayama Prefecture Wholesale Center, Okayama on May 14, 2017. The top 16 competitors of the tournament were awarded either this card or Lunala. This card features the Champion’s League 2017 logo in the bottom left corner of the illustration.”
