I recently discovered Matazo, and I gotta say, something really strikes me about the fanciful, yet subtle bleakness of his work. I also really like the consistency of the line work. If he/she(?) keeps illus for PkMn, I’m definitely adding it to my artist binder.

I stumbled on some neat work in coming and recent sets:
First work from Apios - clean stylized dynamic
This one made me think, “Always wear a helmet.” And I feel like we’re seeing a lot more 90s SoCal vibes lately… (worlds?.. nah)
Yuriko Akase Kuroimori - Really interesting work with shading and light.

The Sylveon is impressive. Kanako Eo, Kimura and now Kuroimori. They’ve managed to make that Pokemon look good, against all odds.
