The curious case of Weedle and good artwork

So some time ago I was sorting some bulk and came across a few Weedles and thought “Hmm, these artworks are pretty good”. Some time later I decided to look at some more of Weedle’s artworks and I was pretty surprised to see how much good art this little larva has got. The little guy has had the honor of being drawn by artists ranging from Arita, Nishida, Kusajima, Komiya, Baba, and many more. Take a look below and see the glory of Weedle for yourself !

The evolution of Kizuki’s artwork between Skyridge and Plasma Freeze in this case is so fascinating. It’s cool that the Pokemon Company has accepted the different styles they’ve done.

@parus , I totally agree, the same thought have crossed my mind too! It’s funny you made this thread because I thought about how much I enjoy the Neo Discovery Weedle just yesterday. My personal top list would be Base, Neo discovery, FRLG and Skyridge (both of them).

Really agree on the FRLG and leaf surfing skyridge Weedle. Also the Secret wonders Arita Weedle really does it for me. It is very simple, yet it has a early winter morning atmosphere that I really enjoy.
