so i would like to share the cheap card routine. this is how i got the most gold stars, ex, holo’s, crystal and other rare cards
i life between two cities (30km away each (~18 miles)). both cities have their own league.(there is even a small league here about 2 miles away)
in those leagues they only care about the new sets (for competitive play)
so 90% dont care about old cards
i bought myself one of the new booster boxes and unpacked all the cards
with the unpacked cards i go to both leagues and trade them for rare old cards
a lot of people wanted to trade
acquire goldstars and booty holo’s
sell some of the cards u already have
sold some goldstars for 150 euro
repeat
(it may be cheap but at least it is not buying 600 euro cards for 30)
Not to sound blunt, but do people at your league not look at prices?
I know everyone at the card shop I go to when I’m at school, they have a few laptops in the store that customers can use to look up pricing to ensure that they all get good deals. Like they know their values going into it, and because pokemon is like the stock market (Re: Pokemon Catchers) they can double check if they want.
no, believe it or not, they are just a bunch of dudes (and a few girls) sitting at tables playing pokemon (and magic but thats not relevant ). also some kids
I remember I was at a D&P Legend’s Awakened PreRelease tourney and I pulled a Mewtwo Lv. X from my packs. Some kid had his dad drive back home and get his binder so he could trade me a Kyogre Gold Star, Groudon Gold Star, and the Azumarill secret rare.
Kids at league care more about winning than collecting. You have to remember that the top competitive cards can get pretty expensive while they are still good.
