Did gif avatars get disabled?

Yes, the animated gif plugin actually broke the user pages so I had to remove it. You can try converting a gif to an animated webp, animated avif to see if that works

I always hated when plugins and libraries stopped playing ball with my code. I do not envy you the task of maintaining this site. =) Thx, PFM!

@pfm I’m experiencing a minor issue where visiting the site on mobile briefly loads in dark mode before switching to light mode (my setting). Any advice?

I’ve noticed it too. Happening on hard refresh right? It’s a tricky issue to pin down.

Indeed, I noticed it when the Halloween theme was first activated.

It’s interesting that mine will flash light mode before going dark but not the other way (as you described)

Very strange.

I think a work-around is to set the regular color scheme to the one you want. Note that the way i have it set up here means the light/dark toggle at the top will do nothing. The toggle switches between the two color schemes you put there

Setting them both to light (the “do nothing” setting) has halted it for now. Works for me. Thanks for thinking of me when you found a trick.

Is this on ios?!!

He’s probably using custom “shortcuts” which, while cumbersome, allow you to customize your icons. Like so:

@stagecoach is correct. The “app” that iOS makes out of the bookmark has been relatively buggy for me in general, so I made a shortcut to open it directly in Safari instead. Unfortunately you can’t use a shortcut to open a home screen bookmark as far as I know, so you can’t use a custom icon for it.
