One has been publicly sold a few months ago. I can’t recall the selling price though.
PSA 9 for 20,000
I. The meowth card, i think you can see the other houses in the background too
Ok, I guess I see what you mean: there is a line with a matching indent (I marked yellow). I agree.
But are there trees in the blue area? Otherwise Meowth should sit in one of the green marked trees. But then I miss the purple buildings in the card. Am I missing something?
EDIT: Something more?
EDIT2: Don‘t get me wrong: I love the effort, the artist put into the card. I love to learn, think and discuss about it, thx to the original posting.
I learned from SuperDuperDani right now there is a Nirvana Baby Squirtle.
But maybe that’s only new to me?
I feel like that blue area is the flower bed🧐
Looks like the building says “poke as opposed to “mart”
I am not sure if this was shared.
The clothesline with the Chatot’s placed on it depict musical notes. If you try to play them, the top portion plays out to be Chatot’s cry from the games and the bottom notes plays out the Pokemon Center Healing jingle.
Also, we all know that Malamar is depicted as an evil Pokemon which wants to take over the world, specially the new Mega-Malamar which was revealed to even hypnotize its own trainer. I feel Malamar never had a chance to be good, since Inkay is basically it’s evil origin story.
The evil tendencies just got enhanced with Iknay’s evolution to Malamar.
Cheers!
This is my favorite arita art, and I will have him sign mine, in my binder, if I ever can. He made reference to this art and its inspiration in an interview for the illustration book in 2016.
Always good to share these things for people who don’t know.
It’s also the ugliest “trophy” card of all time. ![]()
Despite being weak to all three in-game types constituting the
tcg type and despite having a double weakness to one of them, none of these Pokemon have ever had a
weakness on a card.
Woah……this is some historical stuff…
Today I learned something other than drinking cold beer…it’s a great day
Sooo?
This is such a cool piece of info! I love learning this kind of stuff ![]()
Cetitan is based on the North Atlantic Right Whale, which is one of the most critically endangered animals in the world. There are less than 70 reproductively active females left in a total population of about 370 animals, of which several have been lost to ship strikes in 2025 alone. Current projections is that the specie will be functionally extinct by 2035.
Despite being thought to have one of natures most impressive “natural” lifespans of 130-150 years, the mean life expectancy of a North Atlantic Right Whale is a mere 22 years due to human activities like ship strikes and entanglements. The name itself, Right Whale, although originally derived from it being a common sight (= “right”) in the 1700s, quickly evolved into it being the right whale to hunt since they were slow moving, frequently by the shore, frequently near the surface and tended to float after they’d been killed.
Cetitan is therefore one of if not the top candidate for becoming the first Pokemon that turns into a fossil Pokemon.
Obscure fact about Vivillon …
In XY Base Set, Vivillon received 2 cards as 17/149 numeration: the Meadow Pattern (which was available in all languages) and the special version (The Pattern varies depending of the language) … Each of these 2 cards have Holo & Reverse Holo variants (being 4 cards in total per language)
That was the introduction … Now, the obscure stuff …
In TCG Online, this card was released also as 2 versions (which are the same as the physical ones) … Except for Russian
As a physical card, the Special Version of Vivillon in Russian was Icy Snow Pattern (available as Holo & Reverse Holo variants)
Credits to @queendrifloon for the card images (these are physical cards btw)
However, in TCG Online, this special version didn’t exist … In this game, Russian Icy Snow Pattern was replaced by (untranslated) English High Plains Pattern
This is the Russian Folder btw …
Curiously, the Meadow Pattern was translated to Russian in TCG Online
This doesn’t happen in other languages …
English
Spanish
French
German
Italian
Portuguese
Btw, another obscure fact is that this Vivillon might be the only untranslated XY era card for Russian (from XY1 to XY9 (Where Russian was available in the game)) …
XY0 was available in TCG Online … however, it was untranslated in Russian. Cards are shown as English
This is the Russian folder (XY0
) btw
in TCG Live is not possible to see Russian Vivillon because this language is not available in this game …

Fun facts of the Ultra Ball
In Rocket’s Sneak Attack, the Ultra Ball that the girl is holding is depicted with a H on it. This is because it’s actually called a Hyper Ball in Japanese.
However, the yellow stripes already create the H letter on the ball, so the small H isn’t really required.
Another similar occurrence would be in the manga an Ultra Ball had a H on it but unlike a usual Ultra Ball the stripe doesn’t make a H so it’s more useful.
Japan actually made Ultra Balls in Sun & Moon but since the English translation had already used the term they had to rename these Ultra Balls to Beast Balls. Specific balls used to catch the Ultra Beasts.
As a xiphosuran chelicerate, Kabuto is much more closely related to things like spiders and scorpions than it is to crabs and other crustaceans.
The unattractive male name “Keith” is of Scottish origin, likely linked to the Celtic word ‘cait’, meaning “wood” or “forest”. There is also speculation that it may have Gaelic roots, deriving from ‘cath’ , meaning “battle,” or ‘ceiteach’, meaning “wood” or “windy place”.
