Festival lights are all behind her which explains the flatter facial tone from this PoV. I think the face isn’t Morikura’s choice but TPC’s direction that Carmine has to be instantly recognisable, which it succeeds

Agreed. I do wish that TPC had let them get away with their softer style for the face to match the rest of their scene better but I do think it is a very pretty card.

Fwiw I completely agree, for me it’s the detailed noodles vs the other aspects! It’s a nice looking card but I can’t not see it haha

alright, i’ve updated the OP to include the remaining secret rares (at least from the JP sets) and added Luxray ex to the “Meta Potential” section since it has a high chance to be used in Control type strategies.
We’re still waiting on prerelease promos and stuff like the Gamestop/Best Buy stamped promos, but other than that, it’s a wrap.
What do y’all think of the set(s) overall?

I wouldn’t have guessed it but i really like the ogerpon cards and the way they are done! Both that very repetitive way of adding a different mask to a same card frame and that very artistic way of illustrating all the masks in what has some mosaic elements work very well. Depends a lot what price they will hold to consider purchasing them but since there are 9 of them it would make a very nice binder page

I haven’t played the DLC for SV so I don’t really care for or feel a connection to the mask pokemon. I will be grabbing the ARs and singles from the set of the Pokémon I do like. To me it feels like a middle of the road set but with how good modern artwork is, middle of the road is still very good!

I think 3 sets have passed without a johto AR, none in 5a 5k or 5m, so I’m glad to pick up sunflora

The texture helps a lot on the Ogerpon SARs imo. I am mostly after the Kieran SAR and plan to buy a lot of those jumbo card boxes.
I had the same exact reaction. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it but the characters face didn’t seem to match the rest of the card.

for anyone who will be looking to open up twilight masquerade, dragapult ex is anticipated as the new BDIF. I wouldn’t be surprised if the regular double rare is $20+

i wouldn’t say unplayable, but i don’t think it is any good at this time. however, there can always be cards released in the future that help it.

Holy crap this one is awesome the froslass! If anyone gets any i do like 5 bucks a pop on the singles. @bbobrob showed me an article where they dont go on sale for a while kind of like a grace period but if anyone who plays gets them im your guy.
