As a person who’s main hunt for years was topps chrome sparkle muk seeing a species collector add a tekno or sparkle holo of their favourite is always thrilling, congrats on such an awesome pick up! 
This is a absolutely gorgeous! The holo pattern looks soo cool. Sadly the prices for Starmie are so high for a Tekno variant, I pass it for now … and most likely a long time. 
Even better you decided to buy yours. Awesome!
@joponnes A Sparkle Muk sounds so fun, yes it’s a huge milestone to pick up the rare Topps variants. I would love to acquire a Sparkle Slowpoke next!

My first appearance & film card got their grades from PSA! Pretty happy with these, the first appearance was what I expected & the film card came out a bit higher than I thought.
Can’t wait to have them back so I can display them

It’s a huge day for the Slow collection: I’ve completed my Japanese master set! (Unless someone finds a non-acetoned L1 unlimited common…)
My favorite card here has to be the 2002 McDonald’s promo Slowpoke, it’s a Japanese exclusive. In fact, the entire first page features lots of vintage Japanese exclusives, and I find it so joyful to look at.
The hardest card to find was Unlimited Holon Research Slowking, it took me a few months of checking every day. Of course, as soon as I found it, 3 more popped up on eBay lol.
Big congrats! They look amazing all together like that. My favorite is probably the one featuring Pikachu and Totodile with the apples. I see you have both version of it. 
And I completely forgot about that Poké Maniac card, haha. Both funny and weird to see that supporter card among this collection.
Btw, unless I looked passed it, I think you’re missing the Wiglett FA with Slowpoke cameo shilling on the island in the back? Luckily not a hard card to get (in Japanese/English at least, not sure about other languages).

@Quuador I love the Wiglett cameo! I keep an art set of cameos in a separate section of my binder, which I shared here. Recall and Poke Maniac are the exception because Slowpoke is so central to the card artwork, so I keep them in my master set
Ah, that makes sense. I thought the Slowpoke/Slowbro/Slowking cameos were mixed in after I saw that Trainer and the Poké Maniac. Seems like I forgot about that earlier post of yours, since I did apparently like it. Mb.

Never getting tired of seeing all the different art from a certain species next to each others, especially when the slows have so much great art in every era! I’m glad i have been able to include a lot of slow arts in multiple of my goals too but in addition to that i had to make an artificial slowpoke (+psyduck) page to get some arts i otherwise couldn’t fit in any of my collections
Awesome to see the Japanese master set! Slowpoke has so many graet Japanese exclusives (and so many good arts in general). And I never tire of seeing code variants x edition variants for Japanese. Seeing so many of the same (but different) cards lined up just looks satisfying

My version has the little black bar in the text:
Do you know which version mine is?
Lastly, it seems that I am missing quite a few EX era slowpokes because of code variations 
. Were they different codes because of releases waves or was it because of another reason? Do the reverse holo’s also have unique codes? It was hard enough to find one as it is

I think someone once told me that the reason for the variant is that one version came with the Slowbro promo and one came with the Slowking promo, but I haven’t confirmed that myself personally.
The other version will have the “tane” in bold text, but without the black background. Here’s a side-by-side comparion.

Ah yes, the code variations can be tricky! It’s actually kind of a mystery why the codes exist, I’m not sure anyone has figured it out yet.
The reverse holos do not have unique codes, only the nonholos.
We actually do know at least something about why the codes exist, they were used for a phone service pokemon hiroba square where you could enter the code into service and get the card art as wallpaper on your phone but i think it’s still a mystery why they did use multiple different codes, and afaik the codes were only usable with japanese cards and the service wasn’t being used for codes in other language cards, but someone can correct me if i remember it wrong
Two fun updates to share today!
For the Error collection: this Prismatic Evolutions misprint Slowpoke. It recieved the all-over foiling of a Poke/Master Ball, but without any of the texture! Thank you @biirdbots for the heads up on this one. The foil is smooth like his brain

I am so excited to have this card in my collection: a well-loved Dutch Unlimited Fossil Slowbro! After months searching all over Dutch Facebook groups and connecting with various Dutch collectors, it’s finally here
Unlimited Dutch Fossil had a very limited number of packs printed. The majority of Dutch Unlimited Fossil cards come from Theme Decks, and unluckily for me there are no Slowpokes or Slowbros in the Theme Decks.
There are a few dedicated Dutch collectors who go after this set (such as @frisianlunatic ), and many of them have been quite helpful in the search, including the awesome Facebook person who sent this Slowbro my way.
Feels very good to hit 75% Dutch in the All-Languages Spreadsheet
