Slowqueen's Slowpokes, Slowbros, and Slowkings (Update: Pokemon Pad and more!)

Kagawa Pokemon Center & Jeju Island Event Update

I am so excited to share this update, since my latest shipment finally came in from Japan. Last month was a fantastic month for Slowpoke fans. There was a lot of new exclusive merch from the opening of the Kagawa Pokemon Center as well as the Jeju Island event in Korea.

Kagawa Pokemon Center – Opened October 24, 2025

The Kagawa Pokemon Center is a new Pokemon Center in Kagawa, Japan, with Slowpoke as its mascot! The prefecture is known for its Udon, and Slowpoke’s Japanese name is “Yadon” which sounds a lot like “Udon”. Slowpoke has been the mascot for Kagawa Prefecture for a long time (you may have heard of the famous “Slowpoke Hotels”) but the Pokemon Center newly opened last month!

Along with the Pokemon Center opening, they released lots of fantastic Slowpoke merchandise and items. First, we have a flyer that was distributed for the opening, with a Slowpoke origami on the front and info about Kagawa’s Slowpoke mascot on the back!

Next, a number of items that were distributed to guests. The three rectangles are actually sets of tissues. The Slowpoke Pokemon ZA ticket has a special code, and was given out to people who yawn to the staff. The two stickers are distributed to people who yawn, but only when it’s raining (one says “Careful of rain!” and one says “It is raining – Slowpoke is yawning!”). I laugh at the idea of some people going up and yawning at the staff just to resell me these stickers on Mercari Japan.

Next we have exclusive merch with the new designs for Kagawa. I picked up a few items I particularly liked: a clear file, deck box, and card sleeves with the Kagawa artwork.

I also picked up these tchotchkes: stickers, a pin, a rotating Slowpoke Well keychain where if you spin the bottom the Slowpoke moves up and down, and a set of keychains.

Finally: these two Pikachu plushies! I collect location-exclusive Pikachu plushies, so of course I had to pick up these two featuring Slowpoke. If you look closely at the Pikachu on the right, it has little Slowpokes on its shirt as well as in the Udon noodles

Jeju Island event – October 2 – 26

Pokemon hosted an event on Jeju Island in Korea called “Wonder Island” with a stamp rally, exclusive merch, and gardens full of Pokemon! To read more about this awesome event, check out @goonhoon 's writeup here: Korean Promo Cards Database - #10 by goonhoon

One of the mascots for the event was a Slowpoke dressed as a Haenyo, the female divers of South Korea. I picked up a few items, including this little mini Slowpoke plush with the most beautiful tag I’ve ever seen.

I am also in love with this pin featuring Slowpoke and Squirtle, where if you turn the front of the pin it turns from day to night. And the packaging is absolutely beautiful too.

The final item, and maybe my favorite, is the postcard set. It’s packaged inside of a book with the most beautiful artwork on the front and back covers.

And of course, my favorite postcard of all! Thanks for reading!
