I went to a prerelease tournament for Pitch Black today, it was so fun! I’ve been to a few prereleases before and really enjoyed myself. This one was extra special because not only are there Slows in Pitch Black, but there’s an entire Slowbro deck with an exclusive promo.
I wore my Slowpoke shirt and brought my Mega Slowbro binder and some Slow plushies to keep me company. I knew the odds of me getting the Slowbro deck were only 1 in 4 so I didn’t get my hopes up too much, but luckily for me, I happened to get the Slowbro deck!!
The Slowbro deck came with the promo, the nonholo Slowpoke, and the nonholo Slowbro. People around me were kind enough to give me the reverse holo versions. One of the people I played with happened to pull the Mega Slowbro ex, and traded it to me after the tournament!
One person did pull the Slowbro IR, but I didn’t have anything they wanted for trade. It’s just as well because the prices will hopefully come down after the wider release of the set in a few weeks, and I can grab it then.
I got home and immediately added my new English slows from the prerelease into my spreadsheet! After the full release I’ll start looking for other languages too and try to trade for the Slowbro IR in English. I have some good leads for the staff promo too, so fingers crossed for more progress soon

That’s all for this Slupdate! I’m back up over 90%, with 1254 all-language TCG cards in hand. Just need to track down the other-language Staff promos now, and let international shipping do its thing
