I didn’t know what to expect from the CD song. My god, it’s glorious. ![]()
What a haul!
My jaw was on the floor reading through this Slow update. Your collection is truly inspiring!

This is insanely inspiring. I really hope and pray my collection of 5 Charizard cards can grow to something of this size. Really cool to see though!
very happy to help with both the full traditional and simplified chinese collection ![]()
Wow, what an insane update. It is amazing to also see the community and relationships built within the hobby and how important they can be to be able to achieve this. Kudos to all the lovely people who helped you. This is a truly great update and we have just begun the year, since 85 new cards adds a huge dent in our goal to 98% completion. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
Cheers!
A smaller update today in terms of card quantity, but nonetheless a very significant one!
As many species collectors know, randomized start decks can be some of the hardest cards to track down in other languages. Many Asian languages have a version of this product where the odds of getting the cards you need are 1 in 9, 1 in 18, or in the case of Start Deck 100, 1 in 101. Furthermore, a lot of sellers don’t list their bulk, so messaging a bunch of random sellers and asking if they have the specific set code you need gets old very quickly.
To start, I searched every Slowpoke/Slowbro card on every Korean website that I can actually see the listings for. I was able to find my RHs and my V/Vmax this way, but could not find the nonholos anywhere, nor the numbered deck they came in (deck 079). I also messaged every Korean eBay seller I could find, posted all over my Instagram story, posted on Korean Facebook groups, asked everyone I could think to ask… and nothing.
After a few months of this, I reached out to chocodedenne on Instagram. They offered to put up a buy post for the specific numbered deck I needed. Remarkably, someone actually had the entire deck! Huge thanks to them for being so helpful, I have absolutely no idea how would’ve been able to find these cards otherwise.
Anyway, here they are! My Korean Start Deck 100 nonholos:
I can’t express how good this feels to see in my spreadsheet:
Just caught up with your updates! Always great to see the crazy amount of slows in your packages from abroad (the 180-card update some months back is insane!). Also great to see how much help you get from fellow collectors and other nice sellers ![]()
Thanks for sharing your progress with us!
Thank you @bbobrob, my favorite part about building this collection has been the connections I’ve made with folks all around the world ![]()
A big Thai order came in today, it’s been many months in the making! Super super happy to be so close to completing my Thai language set. I don’t think the person who helped me is on E4 but thank you very much Gwen and thank you @dylancollectsglaceon for your help tracking down the gym promo ![]()
Thai Gym Promo
The Slowpoke Gym promo in Thai was not anywhere on any marketplace I could find. I spent weeks looking intensely for this card. Then one day I get a DM:
Turns out @dylancollectsglaceon managed to spot a copy on a Thai Pokemon marketplace page! We coordinated with our friend in Thailand to get the card ordered, and it’s now in my possession. This was back in July of last year, so it’s been a long time to anticipate holding this in my hands ![]()
One really cool thing about this promo is that actually, the stamp is in slightly (sometimes very) different places for each language. Japanese, Indonesian, and Thai all got gym promo cards, Korea got an unstamped promo, and Traditional Chinese had a regular set card.
+4 Deck Cards
If we’ve talked about species collecting in the past several months, you’ll know all about my struggles with random deck cards. Well, Thai deck cards are no exceptions. After gambling on several boxes of AS1D, I still had yet to pull the Slowpoke line. And there were no SCB decks to be found.
It was a bit tough since the cards aren’t very expensive so really no one cares to look for them or list them online. Finally, after lots of random unsuccessful DMs, someone wound up having four out of the five deck cards I needed! I coordinated to get these sent to my friend in Thailand.
These are the cards where I explain “this card looks exactly like the one next to it, but took me months and many headaches to find”
Finally, a shameless plug for my last missing Thai deck card, the Galarian Slowbro from SCB. Still on the lookout for this, please let me know if you see one or know anyone with Thai bulk I could ask!
+20 cards, +1.57% of Slows
Here’s my collection tracker after today. So happy to see that Thai progress bar fill in!
I love little things like this. Looks great all three next to one another in the binder. ![]()
And rofl at that Discord PM of Dylan, haha.
Greetz,
Quuador

For anyone who’s not in the Species Discord and possibly confused, here some context for ciitriina’s post: In her search for this particular card, SlowQueen accidently contacted a Thai seller on eBay twice, and this was roughly their response
.
Greetz,
Quuador
@Quuador Thank you for your reply, the slightly mismatched stamps is definitely one of those cool surprising moments of all language collecting!
And yes, @citriina and @doomrai are referring to this eBay message I got from a Thai seller after accidentally messaging them from two different listings, and I had also asked them once a few months ago, but the chat history didn’t carry over to the new messages ![]()
And then the follow up
Ahhh I’m so glad you finally have it!! I remember coming across the card on like photo 20 of the post and being so excited
Congrats again!!
Super happy to share that Spanish Unseen Forces (Fuerzas Ocultas) is complete with all serial codes!
For whatever reason, this set in this language is particularly difficult to find, especially the reverse holos. For the Slowbro, I’ve had CardMarket email alerts up for months, they only went off one time and the card sold in five minutes. I’ve been posting for months on Spanish messaging groups with no luck either. Shout out to @dromanyte, he’s the Spanish cards expert who warned me about the difficulty of this set ahead of time ![]()
A cool thing to note: there’s an error variant where the Poke Ball foil can be upside down instead of right side up. It’s not uncommon to see, and it exists in all languages. I got lucky and my Slowbro has the upside down balls version!
A big thank you to Diego from AeroCards for helping me with both the Slowking and the Slowbro reverse. For the Slowking, he was able to help me purchase a random listing that appeared on Spanish Vinted. For the Slowbro, he kept an eye out and spotted one in a binder, and purchased it on my behalf. Diego this would not have been possible without your help, thank you so much! Another big help was Lukepohkemon who I purchased both the Slowbro and the Slowking holo from.
It’s so cool to have the reverse holos all together!!!
Once again a set sounds better in another language
Freshly Painted Binder!
Today, I painted my All-Language Slow Master Set Volume 1 binder
I’m really happy with how it came out!
A bit of life backstory: Two months ago I injured my hamstring pretty badly while running. It’s been tough not being able to walk normally, or do many things I enjoy doing. Sitting for long periods of time is difficult, which includes painting. Thankfully, I was feeling a bit better today and decided to do some art. Unfortunately I think the extended period of sitting actually may have irritated my injury again, but I’m still really happy I got to do something fun today.
Anyways, back to our regularly scheduled binder ![]()
Painting!
A few months ago, when I first got my binders, I did some Slow doodles on them with a white paint pen. Each binder has a different drawing on it. To see more of them, you can check out my relevant update in this thread.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been feeling like I wanted a bit “more” on the cover. I saw some variously cool painted and engraved binders on the internet, and I thought maybe I’d like to upgrade mine.
I needed the new artwork to cover up the original painting. So I decided to do a Slowpoke poking it’s head out of the top corner. Here’s a work in progress photo:
Slowpoke with a crown
As I was painting more, I decided it would be really cool to add the little crown on top of the Slowpoke’s head. I started doodling these “Slowqueen” Slowpokes a few months ago.
Then I started drawing the crowns on top of Slowpokes when I give out signature cards to people (sorry for the blurry photo, turns out I never photograph these
)
Then came my profile picture drawn by the amazing @aeyu which really solidified the aesthetic ![]()
And most recently, the amazing Secret Santa hat made by @HaiRai ![]()
Final Result
With the “Slowpoke wearing a crown” vibe firmly established, I decided it would be cute to add the crown onto the Slowpoke on my binder as well! I also coated it with a clear layer of varnish at the end to protect the paint and ensure it doesn’t scratch off.

There are actually four binders in my All-Language Slow Master Set, so I’ll be working my way through the other three as well. Just painting this one took several hours, so it might be a while ![]()
this is so cuuuuuuute
i love this!! excellent cover-up approach too lol
That binder is beautiful! Just love it!
