Show Off Your Error Cards Megathread!

Definitely an ink smudge. Nice card!

I choose to believe that this is a subtle incident of a squished bug in the press like the famous squished bug gastly, my favorite one off printing QC incident. Yes I like it more than Cigar paper hitmonlee.

edited a bit.

its either something stuck on the inking process or some kid’s PB&J finger print from 1999 that got fossilized. I made my choice.

Not really sure if this is an error or if someone just cut it from a sheet. In any case, I like Psyduck so I bought it on a whim since it was kind of cheap. I thought about grading it but I’m not sure if CGC would actually grade it (if anyone has an answer to that feel free to let me know). Otherwise my little headache-laden duck will sit in my binder

Happy to share some on-species errors. I shall coin them… “magic beans” Jumpluff and “dandelion seeds” Hoppip.

First are these printer hickeys on the right border of unlimited Neo Genesis Jumpluff’s art box. I was made aware of these in @shockerb37’s post in the repeating error thread.

The second one is this one I found recently on 1st edition Neo Genesis Hoppips. Looks like scattered dots of extra cyan ink across the attack box. Doesn’t seem like it’s too uncommon, and it can occur to varying degrees. Here are mine:

And here are two other ones currently available on Ebay, with the error in lesser degree.

One of the best shifts out there!

Scizor VMAX 193 with a missing magenta ink layer. No other known copies to date + it somehow graded a Gem Mint 10 with perfect subgrades too.

Hi! Just wondering if anyone has seen a card like this one before and how rare it is. I’ve tried to find other cards like it that has been sold on eBay but I can only find cards with one HOLO BLEED ERROR SWIRL this card has TWO!

@skadi Sick holo shift! And I love your series of pictures (especially with the holo and non-holo juxtaposed) :slightly_smiling_face:

@3lwell Welcome! I am not very familiar with the rainbow cards at all, so I had to look up what a normal one looks like. I assumed the rainbow effect was mostly a holofoil effect, but it looks like the colors are actually printed. Pretty neat card :slightly_smiling_face: It must have some magenta ink though to have the orange-color effect on Scizor’s right hand though, right?

Thank you!

I love figuring out how to best present/display the cards in pictures to highlight the errors

Yeah, it’s pretty neat right! I can only assume that’s where the ink started running dry!

I don’t think it would have passed grading had it have been sun faded.

Yeah that’s right. So I reached back out to ACE about returning my graded card and have the error recognised with a new label. Unfortunately, they won’t add it to their database as they believe it to be a manufacturing printing defect rather than an error and they haven’t seen any other known examples. I’m tempted to have it regraded with CGC though.

Was going through some old bulk to make a little binder and as I was looking through some Alakazam I noticed one with very little visible holo pattern. I can get it to show up under a good light at the right angle, but under normal light it’s nearly invisible. Is this one of those incomplete holo errors? Either way it’s pretty neat.

Here it is next to a normal Alakazam.

Thanks for the warm welcome and I much appreciate the clear explanation! It will certainly help me moving forwards trying to sell it

Here’s an update on my Scizor VMAX 193 error card. I picked up another copy to be graded so I will have two comparable copies side by side showing the stark difference in colour.
