That’s such a cool card especially since it was an ink issue as well as a square cut. Do you mind if I ask how much you got it for? Feel like so many errors are not worth a premium but this is unique.

That’s a really cool card! Especially with that tie-in to the riddle that you mentioned. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! @Rattlesnake + @bbobrob !
To answer your question the seller wasn’t looking to sell at all when I first reached out, so I went to $1000. I had previously offered $250 and $500 over the span of a year. Sometimes you just have to go high, or make an offer he couldn’t refuse as he put it!

To me is worth it, it cost the same as my matchprint but I much prefer this one! I’m no longer collecting cameos anymore so it made sense to grab this and sell the matchprint to put towards it (though test print prices have come down quite a bit this year)

I agree - modern has a crazy amount of error cards so it really has to be significant to justify a real premium.

Another card from this sheet recently sold at auction for the starting price of $400, though I think it would’ve done a bit better as a fixed price or maybe as more popular Pokémon. Who knows, maybe that was a very high price too!

I know a few other cards exist from this sheet too, I’ve seen a skarmory but there must be more.

Love it! Thanks for additional “color”.

No shame in what you paid. Errors are a strange world and I’ve definitely paid “high” prices in situations like yours. Sometimes ya just gotta have it!

Ohh, I was thinking this card had to have come from a sheet and if any of the other cards had surfaced. Nice to see another one! The error is pretty unique and pretty cool to see!

Such an amazing looking card and misprint. Definitely a shining piece to your collection.

Big congrats on the addition! Such a cool misprint to own. And it may be expensive, but if you’re happy with it, it’s more than worth it. I’ve paid those kind of prices for misprints (mostly Yu-Gi-Oh though) in the past. For certain unique and hard to find items, high prices are a tough pill to swallow, but usually (not always tbh) worth it.

I’ve looked back in my saved misprinted pictures on my PC, and I’ve seen also seen an Onix; Qwilfish; Smeargle; and Snom before.
In Brilliant Stars, there were also very similar ones, but with the text very very feintly still visible and without square cuts, for which I’ve saved these pictures.

Bought a ton of pack fresh sets today and stumbled upon this. It’s weird because there isn’t supposed to be an energy symbol here but there is a clear reverse Holo spot for one

Wow, thats a really clean looking reverse!

This is a feature on all of this Magnemite’s reverse holo in particular. Makes me wonder if there’s a corrected version floating around out there.

I think so, plus I bought his legendary collection holos. But I’ve never seen anything like those errors. They’re similar to the make ready test sheet but they are base and factory cut, and one is a starter
