Hey guys have you ever had issues shipping to South Africa? I’m probably not going to do it as the buyer has 0 feedback, but I’m kind of building a list of problem countries if that makes sense. More often than not the tracking just doesn’t get updated to some places, it’s frustrating when I pay an arm and a leg to ship items. Canada Post is $25+ USD to ship anything tracked International in a bubble mailer.
I’ve payed 45$CAD to ship from Toronto to Paris,France. It’s absurd, Canada needs to fix the overpriced postage.
Perhaps if we get that big Amazon hub here things will be cheaper (probably would only apply to Amazon stuff but a dream is a dream)
Yeah it’s a goddamn joke. Without tracking it’s like $10-15… but then you pay $30-50 for Tracked Packet International, your tracking doesn’t get updated and you risk losing whatever you shipped or have to deal with getting your money back if you’ve insured it.
I shipped $500 worth of cards to a member in Germany. They received the package like 4 days later, yet the tracking still doesn’t show anything past having received it at my local post office. That was like 2 months ago. Thank god the buyer was honest. I had it insured for very little so they spared customs duties.
Shipping to the States isn’t as bad, it’s maybe $12-15 but anywhere else it’s double or triple. Canada Post is stupid expensive. It would cost me about $8 shipping tracked across the street. lol
I used to have the same thought process as you in-regards to International Shipping to Afica. However, there are a few big collectors down in South Africa! I have two regular customers from South Africa who purchase from me once or twice a month - and we’re not talking one or two cards - it’s always a large order! I’ve never had any issues in regards to shipment.
They’ll purchase everything off eBay and I’ll package / ship as I would any other International Order. Now, I don’t know how good the tracking information is over there; but, I’ve yet to get any messages about a missing package (knock on wood).
