Scammed

I bought a psa 9 first edition neo lugia off someone off Facebook 2 months ago I did it pay pal friends and family , the card never turned up seller said he had send it but lost the tracking ,2 months later he is selling it on eBay same psa number he’s even just delisted the same card as it was already on eBay what rights do I have ? Any advice would be welcomed

As far as i know, you’re out of luck since you made a donation, Never use the friends and family option like this man.

But i’m sure someone else here knows more than i do.

You’re not covered by anything. The absolute most you could is threaten to file a police report and hope the seller is scared enough to refund/send the card. If that doesn’t work you’re SOL :slightly_frowning_face:

Well that sucks. Unless you have a bunch of pictures and emails/messages and legitimate proof you’re screwed. Even if you had all that a lawsuit probably isn’t even worth your time. What is the guy’s ebay name?

Yea I have all pictures emails of him telling me to pay friends and family and pictures and dates of the card he sells a lot on the biggest uk Pokémon card page on fb so thought he was trusted , i know it was my own fault most annoying thing was it was a card for my nephews bday and cost over a hundred a lesson learnt I guess

eBay is isabe_demps

Credit Card chargeback. Paypal has very little say in the face of credit card companies and almost always heavily favors the buyer. It’s worth a try.

Happens to the best of us mate. How old is your nephew?

Yea going to contact the admin on fb nephew is 11 need the card for my own collection too but don’t really fancy purchasing it now lol

Consider it a cheap lesson. You were saving only 2.9% + $0.30 and thankfully it was likely only $100-$200. It is never worth it. Down the line it could have been a lot more, and now you know to not do that again.

That guy is selling/has sold WOTC booster boxes. It’s sad sometimes to know that some people that collect higher end Pokemon items are actually scammers :slightly_frowning_face:
Never pay via friends and family. Unless it’s someone you totally, whole-heartedly trust, like friends or family.

I always leave the decision to use fam/friends up to the buyer. I net the same amount and am protected either way. It all depends on whether the buyer wants to save money.

If you’ve been scammed, please message me with all supporting evidence that shows you’ve been scammed. Individual threads alerting the forum to a scammer are not necessary since we’ve introduced The Blacklist (http://efour.proboards.com/thread/6346) which lists all scammers who have impacted members of the forum. This adds a level of oversight so we don’t have people saying that people they don’t like are scammers just to get back at them. Not saying that’s happening here, just saying that’s the reasoning.

As such I’ve locked this thread. If OP wants the user listed on The Blacklist please message me with evidence.
