Are the secret rares supposed to make it in Evolving Skies? Or rather, is there a precedent for this to be the case?
Does anyone know of a place where I could get get 4-5 cases of evolving skies at a decent price? Like 600-650 a case or is that an unreasonable price to expect? Is ebay my only option? If I could get like 10 cases for 5k that would be even better.

PCI wouldn’t be leaving money on the table, shows the duality of how the tcg is run in the west vs Japan.
As a hardcore wotc/English only guy. Haven’t bought anything in 3 years. I’ve been buying a lot of the boosters, and the eevee set boxes. Japan isn’t known for reprints like the good ol’ english side. Im not missing out on this one.
Eff it, I just went in and pre-ordered 12 cases of evolving skies. Even if this set gets printed to oblivion, the cards are too good to pass up. I think the Pokemon company cracked the code with these alternate arts and this set has absolute bangers, only regret is no Espeon Vmax alternate in the set ): First set to get me back into modern, skipped pretty much all of SM era.

Ah I gotcha. I’ve seen stores online that want $830-$900 for a case rn. Crazy how people take pre-orders when I’m not sure they even know how many cases they’ll be able to get yet
Most people by now, myself included, know how much they are getting and when for Evolving Skies. I would say from here on it is safe to preorder. I’d advise strongly against paying $150 per box on this or any new sets moving ahead. The days of $80-$90 booster boxes on eBay are largely behind us, but I think it is reasonable that every new release set will be available in the $100-$125 range again at some point during their print window (generally ~2 years after release).

Thanks for the tips. This set has crazy demand, will be interesting to see how much they’ll be able to print, and how long after release they’ll continue to reprint.

Even buying in bulk I couldn’t get a deal for sub 100 a box. My outlook is at worst in the near term the set gets printed massively and boxes dip to 90 (my personal opinion is this won’t happen), at best the 25th anniversary set brings in more attention and Evolving Skies follows in its wake. I hold the boxes long term I don’t see any way I don’t at least break even. Personally I just love the set and am gonna horde boxes no matter what happens. I just wanted to make sure I secured the boxes ahead of time in the rare case Pokemon can’t keep up with demand and the boxes never go sub 130.
This whole set is making me want to collect all the alternate arts in both English and Japanese which is something I can’t say about any other set so that is a testament to how good it is

It´s ridiculous I ordered a good amount of boxes initially with the intent of breaking one or two and keeping the rest, ended up opening all, too much fun!!! I guess I need to buy through someone who keeps them safe from me lol - modern, on the japanese but also recently on the english side is an ABSOLUTE blast to open, Chilling Reign is great too, I´m feeling like it´s 2000 all over again and I´m absolutely loving it!
Late SM was great already, little lull with the first swsh sets but now back in full speed!

Eevee Heroes is the first modern set that I feel like hoarding. I think I will enjoying opening the boxes even many years down the road.

I opened my first two boxes yesterday and it was one of my favorite modern box breaks to date. Keeping them hoarded and opening boxes in 30 years will be a treat.

Any news on the reprint? Is it likely to be a lottery release?
I think it may have already hit, I’m seeing a lot more supply hit the market for sealed booster boxes and prices have come down too.
