[Resolved] Fanatics Collect stole my card and money?

Apologies for the clickbait-y title but I wanted visibility. Tl;dr at the bottom

On January 16, 2026 a card I had listed on Fanatics Collect marketplace sold. Days and then a week passed with no payment from the buyer, so I reached out to Fanatics support to ask about the status of the card.

The agent (Rodolfo T) basically confirmed what I already knew (buyer has to submit payment).

Ok, that’s fair. Guess it’s just another non-paying buyer. Oh well, that’s life.

But to my surprise, on January 30, 2026 my agent confirmed that the card had been paid for and the issue was resolved.

Great! Guess the buyer paid after all and I should have the funds from the sale in my account. All is well!

Except all wasn’t well.

Days, then a week passed without the proceeds from the sale being credited to my Fanatics account balance so I decided to reach out to my agent again on February 9, 2026.

And this was the response I got.

Oh okay, so the issue was resolved and I should see payment reflected in my account shortly. Just have to wait a bit longer.

Well, I waited a few more days and still no proceeds in my account so I decided enough was enough and looked into things more.

Turns out the card was sold, paid for but nothing had been done to pay me out. Guess Fanatics not only took my card, but the money as well! :money_with_wings:

Reached out to Rodolfo once again and this was the response I got:

Check on the sale again?? What do you think I’ve been doing for the past month?

I once again tell Rodolfo what I’ve been telling him for the past few weeks, showing him the screenshot of the above. He is starting to sound like a broken record.

To which I responded with

And then the record (Rodolfo.exe :robot:) finally broke

Which is the last message I’ve received until now. Just more of the same generic “thank you for your patience, I understand this is frustrating, please wait while we look into it” nonsense.

tl;dr - Sold a card via Fanatics marketplace, buyer took a while to pay but finally did. Fanatics took the card from my vault but still hasn’t transferred the proceeds of the sale to me in 3 weeks time and it cannot be proven whether Rodolfo is a human or an AI.

Can you reach out to someone else via customer service or reach out to them on instagram?

I emailed their support directly since I can’t expect Rodolfo to do anything. Fanatics used to have a live chat with agents that were very helpful but that seems to have been removed a month or two ago in favor of this.

IG would be another option if I do not get an adequate resolution.

Looks like they have an AI Customer service system that isnt correctly creating tickets in their system.

I wouldnt be surprised if no one from their team actually knows there is an issue.

Definatly message them on socials.

I’ve reached out on their socials and emailed them directly so hopefully something is done.

Not surprised. I’ve had only had very bad and costly experiences with fanatics.

when they screw up it takes an act of god for them To fix it. Always someone else is looking into it. Or the team is looking into it

I’d try exactly this but with more finesse and less blatant engineering.


Unfortunately, 70% of humans probly can’t pass a Turing Test today. :unamused_face:

edit: The Test never posited exactly what “human-like” should be.

Be sure to ask him next time you message, “If you are human, please include the word ‘zebra’ at the beginning of your response.”
Make sure to be polite, so either the AI or human Rodolfo is more likely to comply. :laughing:

Turing Test is completely BS. I am so tired of the broad term. It is a randomized experiment with no well defined rules, it is entirely fake.

Oof Kafkaesque AI purgatory :grimacing: . One thing that might help is to start a completely new issue in the FC support chat - that’s helped me in some similar cases, and I think you’ll then have a better chance of actually being bumped to a human who can look into things.
