Reducing Light Glare On Scanned Cards

Although the light remaining in the reflection is likely unable to be removed, you most certainly can improve the ‘flat, lustreless, matte appearance’ shown in the original scans.

If you adjust the levels and saturation you should get an improved image.

I don’t have an epson scanner to walk you through the process, but I imagine the scanning software is the same as in the link already provided for the v600.

So if you were on that screen, and pressed the preview button, I would think the histogram adjustment would populate with a black graph that looks like a mountain range.

What you want to do is adjust the sliders at the base to meet where the mountains begin.

You also want to increase the saturation levels until they accurately represent what the card shows in real life. The settings in that guide may be suitable enough.

You should be able to get a similar result to the following, which was achieved changing those two settings in photshop.
