Is it correct that the record-high prices for single Pokémon cards (e.g., Presentation Blastoise CGC 8.5 and Base Charizard PSA 10) are all non-Trophy cards?

Correct, however a top tier trophy hasn’t been publicly auctioned in recent times which is probably why they don’t feature

No. An ungraded Ilustrator sold for $420k on Yahoo Auctions. And also it was a 3-day auction.

Private sales exist - and if you look at how immature and just annoying some people react when those are shared, you can bet the highest-end deals will likely stay private. Information like that can be really valuable.

There will be a s tier trophy auctioned soon. It will probably earn the highest publicly sold price. But as mentioned private deals are higher. My first 7 figure deal was 3 years ago. The largest items (trophies) tend to trade privately.

It’s a bit weird you decided to do your estate auction while still alive. AND you’re rigging it so I “win” the 008/P? Thanks man, you’re #1

I really hope you plan on writing a book or something way way down the road. That shit is fascinating from a Pokemon fan and financial standpoint.

Is this the only known example? (And is it confirmed?)
Thank you!
