WOTC probably the safest investment wise. First editions and things like neo destiny shining pokemon are very popular.

Just don’t do what I did and started buying everything the moment I saw it and sporadically, research prices on eBay, Yahoo Japan, Amazon, etc. Use Google, it’s your friend when looking up certain cards/prices, use bulbapedia for reference and when in doubt ask here.

I agree with the Base 2 suggestion as well as Team Rocket. All other sets have already taken off and should pull these along. Base unlimited has a lot of room to grow too.

I had both English and the 2 variants of Japanese. They did sell well, but took too long also, bought them $40 each. Right now the price is too high.

I was able to pick up all 6 japanese 3 pack sections for $5 a piece. The cards are unbelievably well done, any chance I find them at that price I am scooping them up.
