Quuador's Collection - New resin Seviper + Zangoose figures

An incredible post, this is truly inspiring! Never would I have imagined a Pokémon like Seviper would have so many appearances in so many non tcg items!

When you first set out to make a list of non tcg items, how did you go about doing that? Did you use any list from your Pikachu collection? Did you start by just Googling Seviper and see what came up? Or was it mostly with the help of others sending you items that aren’t posted anywhere online?

For non-TCG, there unfortunately aren’t really 1-3 sources to look at and make an entire list from, like with TCG cards. In fact, as I mentioned a few comments above, I still come across new non-TCG stuff on a daily basis, in my search for the wanted items I am aware of.

To make it a bit more of a story of my non-TCG Seviper collecting, while at the same time answering your questions in between:

At the start, before I was actually started seriously collecting non-TCG Seviper stuff in the first place, I just randomly bought cheap stuff I came across. Here is a picture from August 2020 for example, with all the stuff I had randomly bought over 2-3 years. I was also only focusing on stickers and cards; basically things I could put in a binder:

At the time when this picture was taken, I had just added the Japanese unlimited edition WCP Battle Frontier TCG card with Seviper cameo to my collection, and my TCG Seviper collection was only missing a single card: the Seviper from the same Japanese unlimited edition set, which I added a few months later in October 2020. Because my Seviper TCG collection was then 100% complete, I decided to delve deeper into the non-TCG part, and it’s actually a lot of fun to do.

Just like with most of my other collections, I just started buying things I could find. Mostly cards and stickers still, but also both plushies, most of the figures, etc.

I also googled for other people’s Seviper collections, but as you can imagine, there aren’t too many of us who collect Seviper specifically. There is however one big collector that I mostly used as reference, which is Marphoria. I came across her SnakeGhosty website first, and used that as reference for all those Seviper items. I later on also came across some of her update posts on PkmnCollectors.LiveJournal, and I actually saw last week she posted her collection on IG back in 2021. Arbok is her main collecting interest, but she collects non-TCG for quite a few Pokémon, and Seviper is one of them.
Later on, I also came across the MyFigureCollection Database Seviper page, and this Japanese Seviper Fun Club, which I’ve used as additional references.

In addition, I also went searching for Seviper in all kind of non-TCG wiki pages, like PkmnCollectors.Fandom; Bulbapedia Merchandise and cards; this VS Cards & Amada stickers website; etc. Especially that first one gave me quite a few new items to look for.

And over the years I simply added to the collection like this. I also came across NidoKingdom on IG (also a member here on the forum since this year), who helped me with quite a few items as well (1/3rd of the Amada stickers came from him iirc, but also one of the binders and the Meiji quartet sticker to give some other random examples).

And dozen of other collectors also link me auctions of items they think I might not have yet or they’ve seen in my wanted list, which is also very nice.

Anyway, as a kid I only ever collected TCG. And even when I came back I’ve collected TCG only for about the first five years. But now, I defintely don’t regret delving into the non-TCG side. There is so many unique items to find, and it’s also fun searching info about them, or even discovering them yourself.
Take the Kraks for example. I’ve seen Seviper in four of the colors very often: transparent, yellow, neon-yellow, and lilac. And orange is slightly harder to find, but also not too uncommon. But the other ten available colors I’ve only seen 0-3 times each for Seviper, even though they’re available in abundance for some of the other Pokémon. For a very long time, I was convinced certain Pokémon were only available in certain arrange of colors. But later on I discovered, and I’m not entirely sure why, that the Kraks color distribution per Pokémon is just extremely uneven. Still, now that I’ve found 12 of the 15 colors for Seviper, and I’ve seen one of the three colors I’m missing once, I now know all fifteen of them are available for every Pokémon (I can’t even imagine someone going for the full set of every Pokémon in every color  ).
But then don’t even get me started on the second set for which I have that brown-greyish Seviper, for which I basically know next to nothing. Can’t find any info for it, although I did manage to buy a booster pack that I’ve opened and contained three random gen 3 Pokémon with different colors and holo patterns. I certainly hope I won’t have to find the Seviper in not only 10+ more colors but also different holo patterns in a set that’s almost impossible to find in general, haha.

Anyway, I’m digressing.

Lots to search; lots to collect; lots to learn; lots to document.

Thank you, I appreciate the insight! I have only dabbled a tiny bit into non tcg pieces in the past and scouring older pages that at some point documented an obscure random item was so helpful.

Also as a side note, The Japanese Fan Club page is incredible. The main page has been around since 1998 and it’s still being updated to this day. Really made me feel nostalgic for the old internet for a sec.

Holy Seviper! That shirt is so dope amongst the kaleidoscope of Seviper stuff in this thread. It’s too much to count and compliment singularly therefore I have to say the entire thread is fire instead  I remember when this pokemon first came out. Everyone was after Zangoose or whatever the spelling of that white/orange cat guy is haha! Seviper was a beast in the video game originally. I haven’t played him recently.

I don’t have a shirt yet, though. I think you’re referring to the bandana by the brand OriginalStitch? I am still missing the t-shirt from that same brand.

Thanks a lot for the compliments. :fire:

Super late but this post is the best one I’ve seen in a while ! Love everything about your collection

I’ll definitely be sending you stuff that I don’t see in here if I ever do find any

Do you know if the ADV Patchin pogs also exist in holo for Seviper ? (For the Nidoking line i’ve seen Nidoking, and nidoran male in holo and non-holo so I’ve always assumed that every pog can be found in holo  )

I mistranslated them as Patches instead of Patchin, so thanks for the small correction.

And it is a bit hard to see in this picture it can’t be seen at all in this picture…, but either the top-right or bottom-left is the holo version. I haven’t seen any of the other four Seviper as holo before yet. But I don’t come across the Seviper Patchin too often to begin with, so I’m not even sure if these five artworks are all Seviper that are out there or whether there are more I’m unaware of.

So if you see any artwork besides these five, or a holo besides the one I already have, please lmk.

PS: Coincidentally, I currently have this lot of unpeeled Patchin incoming, including both that holo and non-holo Seviper.

I just finished admiring your amazing catalogue with the non-TCG Seviper items. Your attention to detail is truly beyond anything one would even encounter in a professional setting. Just wow! Indiana Jones would shit his pants after only seeing 1% of your snakes.
A quick question regarding a potential variation. You mentioned the “Japanese Nintendo GameCube Pokémon R&S” and I noticed you only display the Standard Version. Would you consider picking up the big box aka “GBA Cable Version” variation as well?

Here you can see the difference between the two.
Seviper’s colors are way less muted on the big box.

I think I have seen it once and then forgot about it by accident. Thanks for mentioning it! I’ve just picked a new one up from eBay, as you suggested.

Yes, I’ve indeed bought one of those from Malaysia, but it’s currently at my US middleman.

Thank you for the tag.

You have done an amazing job with both collecting and cataloguing. This is a wonderful celebration of non-TCG items, and it truly helps one appreciate the scale of product releases.

Yours is a museum-grade collection. Thank you again for sharing.

Small update with some new Pikachu.

First an update I did post in another thread, but forgot to post in my collection thread. So I’m just gonna quote myself:

And here some pictures this time:

Next two cards from 2018 and 2019 respectively, which I’ve been unaware of since only very recently.
The first is a miniature Japanese Lightning Raichu-GX Starter Deck Pikachu, from the October 2018 volume of the CoroCoro Ishiban magazine, released on August 21st, 2018. Thanks a lot to @rabby250 for making me aware of these SM-era Mini Decks, and also to @queendrifloon for linking me the auction for the entire Zeraora Mini Deck, after I was unable to find it myself. :pikahappy:

And finally, a repeating misprint on the French Reverse Holo Hidden Legends Pikachu. All Reverse Holo cards from this French set had repeating misprints where they’d have the English Reverse Holo instead. On most Pokémon cards, like Pikachu, this resulted in a holo shift at the Weakness and Resistance Energy symbols, as can be seen in the photo below. This I was unaware of before, although I have seen it before on Pokémon with larger attack texts or Ability, like this Jolteon or this Electrode, where the error is more noticeable.

My EC Studios figures have arrived. The pretend-Seviper Pikachu is smaller than I was expecting, but it’s still amazing. And the Seviper itself and Zangoose are very cool too.

I’ve also just pre-ordered the next SXG Seviper/Zangoose resin figure pair. So we’ll likely see those near the end of the Summer.

@Quuador . I have looked at this collection before, yet have never taken the time to comment. I am glad that I have taken time to look again. It is really a wonderful collection. Well organized and presented. Thanks for sharing it.

Sorry I just saw this…

Packs are sealed in early lots of the set boxes themselves. To tell if a box includes the promo pack, just look at the top of the box:

A post was merged into an existing topic: The Giant Pokémon non-TCG Identification Thread

Quick update, but the new resin figures I preordered at the start of this year arrived, this time from SXG Studios. Since both figure look down a bit, and the Seviper is fairly long, its tail is completely out of focus, but you get the idea.

Wow, I like the finish on them, specially the Seviper looks like a metal figure when it is resin. They look really high quality. Thanks for sharing the pickups!

Edit: Sorry, this is me saying high quality not knowing the work done by SGX studios. Probably they always do a good job with figures!

Cheers!

Yeah, the Seviper indeed has metallic colors, which look pretty cool.

As for your edit, I dunno. These are my first SGX Studios figures. :person_shrugging: Here are some other ones on PokeGalerie from SGX, in case you wanna judge their overall quality. Although I feel like resin figures in general are usually very high quality; the four sets of Seviper + Zangoose resin figures I have are at least. You can find my other resin Seviper+Zangoose figures in previous collection posts: BF Studios figures (Feb. 2023); XO Studios figures (Nov. 2024); EC Studios figures (Feb. 2025)).
