Hi! This is my first post to the site, and I’ve seen that a lot of obscure topics I want to research are answered here, so I figured I’d join and ask. I’m currently trying to make a species master set of the Bulbasaur evolution line, including cameos, and I’ve been using Collectr to keep track of my collection. One of the cards I still need is the Ivysaur Crystal Guardians Prerelease Promo. When I looked it up on Collectr, it has two different entries for a Normal and Holofoil variant, and, looking on eBay, I see at least one listing that specifically mentions that the card is non-holographic. TCGPlayer also holds that there are two variants of this card (which isn’t surprising considering Collectr runs off of TCGPlayer anyway). However, other sites like PriceCharting don’t make this distinction, which makes me wonder if TCGPlayer has an error in its database. Could anyone with knowledge about this give some insight as to whether or not there is more than one variant of this prerelease card? Thanks in advance.
These did not come in holo afaik. None of them did
@candle is indeed correct. All prerelease cards from that era are non-holo.
And there isn’t a single set with two different pre-release versions of the same card (with the sole exception of the English Prerelease Fossil Aerodactyl, with both a Galaxy holo and Cosmos holo variant for US vs EU).
